True. The type of sustained beating which really can ruin a fighter.

Look at what they did to JDS. Who may still be relevant but clearly isn't the same fighter. That said Dos Santos Seems to be smart and took extended time off after rough fights.

The ability Max has to keep throwing more and harder punches in the later rounds is ****ing insane. Must feel like you're trying to defend against 3 people hitting you. Congrats to ortega he will be a champ one day he has no quit either.

Always liked him too, just had to root against him vs Aldo. The improvements he's made the last 4-5 years have made him close to unbeatable at 145.

I think the damage maybe more mental than physical. He was out of his depth tonight.

Rematch with Conor at 155 for Max at some point in time, anyone?

This current version of Max with his cardio and output against Connors tank...Max body bags him in the 3rd or even end it late in the 2nd.

I agree, Conor would be blowing out of his rear end by the halfway point of the second round round against Max, and would simply unravel under Max's relentless pressure and ferocious output.

Hard to argue against but need to see Conor at 155 against a decent name agaom before deciding on this. If he impresses against Poirier or Ferguson might need to reconsider.

Also have to wonder what type of beast Max may be at the higher weight without as much weight cut needed..The output and accuracy he increases as the rounds go on with the current massive weight cut looked inhuman..If he gets stronger at a higher weight as Rob Whittaker did it will be interesting.

Many great matchups for Max when he does clean out 145 and eventually moves up to 155. Fights with Tony Ferguson and Anthony Pettis would be absolute non-stop action!

If this one fight hasn't taken a significant amount away from him or ruined him mentally, Ortega himself can rebound and clean out 145 once Max moves up. That's how good a win this is for Max.

Don't like how the potn and fotn bonuses were handed out. Handed out in a way that favors the bigger names. Lima definitely deserves one for his walk off left hook KO in a fight in which his was against the wall, Nelson deserves one for his brutal finish over Oliveira. Obviously Holloway deserves a bonus for his great performance but why screw over the undercard guys? Santos/Manuwa should have been FOTN even though it was brief. Amazing how greedy the UFC is. The rob fighters if sponsorship money and on a great card where multiple fighters deliver exciting performance the bonuses are spread between only 2 fights.
