UFC 232 on paper looks like it could be the best fight card of the year

The main event should be a ripper if it's even close to the 1st fight which I think was fight of the year, the co-main with Cyborg vs Nunes is possibly the biggest fight in WMMA history and the under card has some big names like Condit and Mendes in exciting fights and legend BJ Penn in likely his last fight with the UFC

Agreed. I'm seriously fired up. Here's what I think.

Jones vs. Gus: I think in a striking battle, Jones and Gus will typically break 3 rounds to 2 for one guy or another with Gus using his boxing and range control to steadily accumulate punishment with his hands and Jones trying to work leg kicks but having most of his luck with long range kicks and step in elbows. If Jones can find entries to apply his mix of freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling to bring Gus to the ground, Jon will run away with the fight.

Cyborg vs. Nunes: You have to favor Cyborg. A key question for me is whether Nunes' stamina will improve with the move up in weight. If not, there's no hope for her. Cyborg is either slowing down or fighting in a very calculated fashion. Against Lansberg and Evinger she looked a step behind the scariest version of Cyborg. And Holly had success in their fight as well. Everyone says Nunes hits shockingly hard and her grappling is strong. If Cyborg wins, she's definitely the GOAT of WMMA. If Nunes wins, she defends against Holly and secures the GOAT title if she wins that one.

Chiesa vs. Condit: Condit is sort of a bigger version of Pettis, who outclassed Chiesa badly last time. But Condit has seemed really unenthused about fighting since the Lawler fight. Take down defense was his weak spot and Chiesa's grappling is beastly. Chiesa should look better at 170. Word on the street has it that he was on Death's door trying to make 155 the last few times.

Latifi vs. Anderson. Latifi is probably stronger and is definitely the harder hitter. Anderson is busier though and he's looked great with two wins in a row. He got robbed pretty badly against Shogun in Brazil in 2016.

Mendes vs. Volkanoski: Probably FOTN. Volkanoski has had time to mature into a top 10 spot. He wrecked Darren Elkins for the full 3 rounds. But if Mendes wins its more interesting. He'd be a leading candidate for a title shot. A fresh option for Holloway if he sticks around 145 (unlikely).

As a side note: if Gus beats Jones, especially if he finishes him, I think it might result in the biggest reaction to a loss ever. The world would lose its mind. Even if I wasn't the biggest, it would be on par with Ronda losing, Conor losing to Khabib, or Broner losing to Maidana. I've rooted against Jones since I started watching this sport, but even to a longtime hater, the pent up negativity toward Jones is reaching insane proportions. That'll all burst in a Tsunami if he loses.

Yeah you nailed it we pretty much share the exact same opinion on each of the fights you mentioned, the Mendes v Volkanovski fight should be a beauty and as you mentioned should catapult the winner into a title shot or at least a title eliminator.
I'm a Carlos Condit fan and I'm a little unsure and concerned what version shows up because neither he or Lawler has looked anything like there best since there epic war at UFC195, if he loses again against Chisea I can see him give it away for good.
