Still wonder how this one would have panned out had Masvidal not scored such a crazy opening knockout like that. It's a hilarious and satisfying result but a bit disappointing in the sense that we dont know if Masvidal would have actually been able to nullify Askren had he gotten his game going. Moot though because Masvidal took a crazy chance and it payed off. Nuts.

 

I don't think so. Askren wanted to gun for a title shot not take easier fights. He wasn't able to sign with the UFC years back because White had personal issues with him. I wouldn't be surprised if he retired after this.

Being 1 dimensional like Askren has been might get it done in the minor leagues but in the UFC that **** won't cut it,in back to back fights Askren has gone for the takedown straight away as he hasn't improved his stand up game to even an average level and got punished for it each time
