UFC 299: O'Malley vs Vera II RBR, Discussion Thread

Joanna is deserving of the UFC HOF, she's given so many exciting fights to the fans, it only makes sense for the UFC to induct her.

 

Dustin Porier vs Benoit Saint Denis, 5×5 minute rounds, Lightweights.

 

Let's go Dustin!

 

Denis starts out landing some leg kicks, rushes for the takedown and gets caught in a guillotine choke by Porier. Both fighters get back to their feet, Benoit clinches Porier from the back, Denis tries to rear naked choke but Dustin shakes him off. Both meet at the center on the octagon.little elbows landed from Benoit against the cage. Again porter goes for the guillotine but Denis escapes. Denis gets back control working for a rear naked choke. Dustin survives the round, after an arm triangle attempt.

1-0 Saint Denis

 

Left hand rocks Saint Denis, and he goes for the takedown and gets another guillotine choke attempt from Porier but to no avail. SD gets porier back, and Dustin manages to get back to his feet. Dustin looks tired, SD putting pressure and landing against the fence. Porier lands a big left hand and SD is rocked, porier stuffs a clinch and lands a massive right hook and SD is out!!!

Dustin Porier wins by KO2!!!!

 

Porier is my guy, I'm happy he pulled it off.

 

Sean O'Malley vs Marlon Vera II, 5x5 minute rounds, UFC Bantamweight championship.(135 LBS)

 

O'Malley landing some push kicks and leg kicks to start. Spinning back kick and front leg kick to the ribs land for O'malley. O'Malley is controlling the distance well, Vera is still looking for openings as Sean continues to land his strikes. Good straight hands to the body by Sean,( there's a split between the chants in the crowd.) O'Malley lands the better strikes and takes round 1.

1-0 O'Malley

 

Omalley doing more of the same. Vera needs to get active and fast. Head kick lands for Omalley, Vera takes it well. Omalley continues to pick his shots and Vera does nothing. Omalley is living upto his Sugar moniker doing whatever he wants. Omalley lands a clean knee, but Vera takes it very well, Vera shows a great chin. The sugar man doing great work in round 2.

2-0 O'Malley

 

Chito starts more aggressive, but not being very effective. Sean still dictating the pace. Good boxing from the sugar man, landing good straight lefts at will. Vera pushes forward but misses his combination. Omalley is picking Vera apart now on the feet, landing good shots up top. Vera needs something dramatic to happen or it's over.

3-0 O'Malley

 

Chito needs to make it a fight and press omalley and go for broke. Vera is doing work now lands a good knee on Onalley against the cage. Omalley is working harder this round as chito pushes the pace. Vera continuing to push the pace landing some shots on Omalley, but Sean still landing cleaner shots. Omalley is bloody now. A fight broke out in round 4 but O'Malley still doing the better work.
