The card is absolute trash by UFC standards. Two title fights, but then not a single top 10 contenders in any of the other 10 fights. Heck, 13 of the 24 combatant on the card don´t even have a wikipedia page. How is this a UFC PPV card? UFC is going down the same path as boxing did, and eventually it will bite them in the ass. But I am looking forward to the main event because the first fight was an excellent one.
I'm putting some change on Strickland. I thought he was getting close last time and trust the dog in him. We'll see. I won pretty big on Chisora earlier today so I am feeling like it's house money.
I've been popping in and out of the prelims. Nothing really worth watching so far. Everytime I turn it on they crowd is booing the lack of action lol.
I don´t see DDP holding onto that belt for too long, too many killers in the division. However, regaining the belt in the UFC seems like a near impossible task. I think statistically a UFC champion is more likely to defend their belt twice, than to regain a belt after loosing it. Heck, Izzy might be the only two time middleweight champ in the promotions history.
Oooff... Didn't know that stat. I've been cleaning up in boxing betting again, after swearing it off years ago. Having been doing OK in MMA but I'm just not as versed. I do enjoy the S out of the fights though. Cheers!
The first fight was definitely razor close, and Strickland had to deal with a nasty cut. I would not be surprised if Strickland won. I like both guys and am rooting for them both.
Chimaev is limited when it comes to travel. And why would the UFC even want him as a champion if he can barely fight anywhere? I do think Chimaev will get that title shot, but he might not be next. Also, does anyone know how many hours it will be until the main event? I am thinking about taking a nap.
I feel like we got a while. He was just granted citizenship from one of the Gulf states and with Trump now in I'm pretty sure any supposed issues can be circumvented if the will is there. But as you suggested maybe Dana and the UFC don't really have the will.
I'm a sucker for Argentine fighters so I put a little action on Prado here. Plus, home crowds can make things go poorly.
