I'll try to keep people updated on fights, and perhaps do some round by round. (Apologies for getting this PPV confused earlier with another one and thinking it was happening in Europe)
Herring/Nog Round 1. HOLY ****! Nog lands a huge right off the bat, then takes Herring down. He is in side for awhile, but Herring sneeks out. They get back to their feet and Nog is destroying Herring with boxing. He catches him with a few big right hands, bloodying Heath up, and lands two or three big knees. Herring looks about cooked, and out of NO WHERE lands a huge high kick. Nog goes down and Heath falls on top, pounding away. Somehow, Nog stays conscious and the ref lets it go. Nog escapes the round... WOW
I thought the ref was going to stop it. Nog was taking a beating on the ground...I'm not sure how he made it out of the round.
Round 2 is a little less exciting but still good. Astounding fight so far. Sadly, the UFC fans have booed at least three times in this fight, despite the fact it's been amazing. That first round still has me saying "Holy ****." Nog gets Herring down and gets his back. It looks like he is about to get a choke, and Herring reverses to get top position. Then he climbs off and tells Nog he wants it on the feet. They exchange some punches, nothing too major. At the end of the round, Nog gets a heavy takedown and lands a few short punches before the whistle.
Round 2 Herring isn't aggressive and doesn't do much. Big Nog gets 2 takedowns and back control. Nog straight lefts. Rnd 2 nog
Me too. Not sure why he let it go...but Nog might pull this off now. I am so surprised at how often head kicks are being employed now.
Round 3...well, I'm sick of typing. So, let's just say lots of fun on the ground, with tons of reversals. Really entertaining ground work, ala a good Pride fight.
I was just going to write something about that. I was so pissed when they were booing twice in the first (which was one of the best rounds I've seen in awhile) and again in the second and third. I mean, that was an epic fight. It was so evenly matched. Nog looked like he was going to destroy Herring after the first four minutes, then that huge leg kick changed the landscape. It was back and forth on the ground. Big shots. Some blood. What more can you ask for? That would have gotten a standing ovation in Japan.
:good I'M AMERICAN AND I WAS WONDERING IF THEY WE'RE CHEERING BECAUSE OF HERRINGS ESCAPES OR CAUSE THE AMERICAN GOT OUT OF IT:huh
