I don't recall the last time I saw such lop-sided victories in a single UFC event. Franklin, Quarry, St. Pierre and Bisping were all completely dominant. I was especially happy to see Franklin's ground game once again. It's been criticized before, but I think he deserves much more respect than he gets on the ground. St. Pierre's ability to throw Serra on his back at any time was amazing and Bisping looked impressive as a middleweight. Overall, it was a good event.
I wouldn't say Franlkin was dominate he was mounted twice and was very close to getting armbarred, Ludder gased by the second round and Franklin took over. Lutter seems to find a way to lose.
True, Franklin was mounted twice, however, besides the armbar attempt, he was in no real danger and showed he's got great defensive abilities from his back.
Seeing Franklin on his back was great. He doesn't have stellar jits, and won't be winning many fights from the ground. But he defended himself well and didn't look like a fish out of water.
Maybe not stellar, but there are many many fighters that would have gotten tapped with that armbar. It was definitely a very nice escape.
Franklin showed why he is a true Champion even though he doesnt have a belt right now but everyone knows he would if Andersons parents never met. Franklins been in some rocky situations vs a few tough guys like Lousieau,Tanner now Lutter and always comes back and dominates his opponet. Rich is a great man and a great fighter I cant wait till hes Champion agian.
Ah, Franklin was very close to losing with the armbar and with those two mounts. Bisping was in a HORRIBLE position with that armbar and could very easily have blown it. Also, a lot of those punches and knees that Goldberg and Florian were going nuts about were being blocked. Mcarthy didn't look like he got beaten up that bad except for the messed up forearm.
