The funny thing is, Silva's stand up is so sloppy. Jardine's not exactly a technician, but he's got much cleaner punches than Silva. But that one, out-of-nowhere round house right to the side of the head by Silva won him the fight. Whatever it takes, I guess! And props to Jardine. He always puts on good fights. He either gets laid out like tonight or against Houston Alexander, or he punishes opponents like Forrest and Liddell.
Yeah, he took a few clean shots while lying on his back. I was surprised he was so hurt from that first punch and the following couple, but those ones on the ground were clean as can be. That had to rattle his brain a little. Hope he's alright. Like I said earlier, win or lose, he's always involved in an entertaining fight. He'd make the Spartans proud...he either goes home with his shield or on it.
Were-they right the announcer when they said he could be a threat to Silva because of his skill in BJJ???(im talking about the fight we just saw)
Yeah. I think they're right...to a small degree. No one is going to outstrike Silva. While he's shown to have some great jiu jitsu, too, it's not his strongest point. But it's going to be tough to submit him. I still think a strong wrestler with a good ground and pound game matches up the best against Silva. Henderson had the style, but he lacked the gameplan. He used his wrestling in the first round, but then tried to stand in the second. Having bravado and standing with Anderson Silva is a death sentence.
