Need to stop doing fights in Britain or import our judges if that is true.. Britain is going to be the MMA's version of Boxings Germany.

    Hughes has lost it.

    Quick fall from the top.

Even though I think Hughes is a dick, his sort of speech at the end of the fight was incredible. He's definitely a UFC legend.

Just caught the Alves-Hughes fight and here are a couple of thoughts:

    1. The weight, though not a primary factor, was a factor.

Hughes inability to take-down Alves, much less keep him there, was enhanced by Alves utter lack of making weight.

    2. Alves is crazy-strong. Hughes, at this stage, is not what he once was, but he didn't look terribly strong in the octogon with this guy. Who knows - mayb a superfight awaits Alves, in the way of Matt Serra? Georges St. Pierre? Jon Fitch? Diego Sanchez???

    3. The stoppage was good, Hughes was being embarassed (the flying knee was sick) and hurt in that second round.

    4. I hope this was Matt Hughes final fight. He went out on his sheild, taking on a tough, young fighter with a strength level and style not suited for him. He was a true legend of the MMA scene, a pioneer as well, and has already cemented his fine legacy with wins over BJ Penn, St. Pierre, AND Sean Sherk, among others.

    5. BTW - Fabricio Werdum is for real. The stoppage, frankly, sucked. But the guys striking has been improving over the last two years, and we saw that here against Brandon Vera. Can't wait to see Werdum's next fight, I think he's going far.

    6. Anderson Silva destroys Michael Bis-Ping-Ping. But it would be a hellavu fight to watch, with Bis-Ping-Ping's workrate and agressive stand-up game.

    7. Ahh, Mike Swick. I expected him to win, and he did. He won't beat Silva, but he would make it interesting, considering his ability to strike.

Very disapointed for Hughes. Can not help feeling that Alves and his guys faked the weigh in **** just to get an advantage. Decent fight and Alves maybe after one more top level fight should be given a crack at GSP. Hughes should fight Serra then retire, both look out of it now.

Swick and Davis was disapointing again for me. I like Davis and thought he could cause a ripple down the line.

Lietes and Marfart was pretty good.

    Werdun looked ok.

Bisping actually looked good. More than that he had a differeant demeanor tp that he usually enters the ring with. In recent fights he has looked like the loser even during his entrance, tonight he looked ready to fight. He has a decent all round game but does not stand out in any area.

Did I miss something? What fight(s) did the judges screw up? The only fight that was possibly controversial was the Marquardt fight, and even then the judges didn't have much of a choice but to score it the way they did due to the point deductions.

My bad.. I meant refs lol. I can see how that was very misleading. Should have the regular refs.

Another impressive win for Martin Kampmann after a long layoff, he is 4-0 in the UFC and was suppose to get a title shot before he hurt his knee over a year ago. my only prob with him is he seems to small and doesn't look very strong at 185....but so far he's getting the job done.
