Well you never know maybe this time off he will dedicate to his striking and ground skills but knowing him thats very doubtful.
Well that is true hes a good sized Welterweight and aside from Hughes I dont recall GSP fighting many big Welters. But Fitch doesnt strike me as a guy with a serious chance. His striking has improved but I still think GSP is alot more comfertable and well rounded on his feet. Fitch has a good wrestling background but I dont consider him one of the best hes just real agressive and keeps going for it until he gets it. GSP has the best sprawl ive seen and **** he can takedown anyone it seems. I dont know man looking at it from all angles it seems like another GSP beating. I kinda hope we get to see Alves-GSP im curious about GSP in a Thai clinch.
GSP's wrestling is so good these days I really don't see how Fitch has a chance. I think striker's or a submission specialist would have a better chance. If he get's past Sherk, Penn-GSP 2 has to happen.
It will be interesting to see what Fitch's plan is, do you keep it standing and try to land a big KO shot which isn't likely, or try to takedown somebody whos incredibly hard to takedown. It might look alot like GSP-Koscheck. GSP, in my opinion, should continue his immediate takedown into ground and pound; if you can takedown and outgrapple Hughes, Koscheck, Trigg, Sherk, and Serra, who the hell is going to stop you? I mean BJ protected himself well on the ground, but GSP was still able to win by taking him down and doing slightly more from the top, and he seems to be even better at controlling where the fight is now. Yea, he can stop the takedown about as well as he can initiate it, but why bother really?
