It seemed to me that Forrest couldn't recover to guard fast enough after the first take down, and took quite a lot of damage before he got guard. Rashad was just too good of a wrestler, and he overpowered him on the ground. Rashad would have looked a lot better if he would have taken the fight down earlier. Why is it that wrestlers feel they need to become standup fighters to be good in MMA? Koscheck? Rashad? Having a good standup game is fantastic, but why not use your best attribute? Oh, and also: Hooray for the Ultimate 2008! Now I can get rid of this super gay avatar!
Whats not to like about Forrest. Is about to go to War with you in the Ring but will have a beer with you after it. Griffin was still pretty much getting over just being KO'd and what was the first thing he did. He pushed the doctors etc out of the way why still groggy and went over and congratulated Evans even though he was schooling him. He was like we will catch up for a Beer yeah. If it was the other way around and Evans was schooling Griffin and then Forrest KO'd Evans how many ****ing excuses would we have to hear from Rashad for the next 6 months. Thats why i will always follow Forrest he gets beat he doesnt cry winge he just goes back to the gym and trains. Rashad is a tool. And as long as Griffin is in the UFC i will still watch.
Gezz what ****ing haters , the man was very gracious with his win , he did not even run around the ring and celebrate but chose to walk calmly to his corner and kneel down and not say a word .. What the **** do you people want?!?!
hold on did we see the same fight , because Griffen was not schooling anyone it was a pretty even fight with both guys getting there shots in ..
I like Forrest BUT 1) Forrest literally cried when he was KOd by Jardine. 2) Forrest doesn't fight like he used to against Stephan Bonner. He has evolved, and I wouldn't really consider his style "going to war" in the way that phrase is often meant. 3) Evans has never lost so you have no idea what he would say. He might give Forrest all the credit in the world. 4) Forrest wasn't totally dominating Evans the first two rounds. The second round was pretty damn close, it was Forrest's round for sure, but Evans made a decent show of himself. 5) Dude, if you only watch MMA for Forrest Griffin you are REALLY REALLY missing out. Forrest is great and fun to watch, but there are certainly more exciting fighters out there. (Have you ever heard of a guy named Georges St. Pierre?)
Griffin clearly had the best of the exchange on their feet, especially with his leg kicks. 2-0 for Griffin in the first 2 rounds. But Evans beat the **** outta him! He should had try to take him down in those first round
Timing Forrest, catching his kick, getting the take down, keeping control of him on the ground for almost 2 minutes and passing his guard and landing a shitload of precision hammer fists, elbows and punches are your idea of luck on Rashad's part? At least you admit that you're a bandwagon Griffin nuthugger. Maybe you should shut the **** up about MMA and go back to fabricating BS so you can nuthug Tszyu. I forgot how much of a ****in' tool this guy is. :-(
Thats why i follow Boxing more. And always will. say what you want i couldnt give two shits. But Evans got hit many many times you cant fool eye sight. Even Joe Rogan was saying how Forrest was in complete control. Say what you want about me being a Forrest fan but i couldnt give two shits. Im sure in 3 years we wont even remember Rashad Evans. He will be that guy that breifly held a title in the UFC.
Let it the **** go, Rashad had Forrest by the back of the head landing about 400 shots with the other hand, regardless of if he lost 4 rounds, 4 minutes, and 59 seconds, he beat the holy hell out of Forrest before the final bell.
Yeah i love StPiere. Actually the first fight i ever seen of UFC was his fight with Matt Hughes(Tool) Look my favourite guys in the sport are as follows. 1. Griffin 2. Rampage 3. Goerge St Pierre 4. Huerta 5. Diaz brothers
That's obvious because you don't seem to be able to grasp the fact that despite being edged out (not dominated like you're insinuating) in the stand up game, Evans was able to dominate on the ground. There are many facets to MMA and no one (like the stand up that you're harping about) is more important than the other. Evans won fair and square. There's really nothing to complain about other than the fact that the guy you have a man crush on lost.
