The way this went down it is the same as quitting and while I don't have a problem with quitting in a fight like this, BJ's prefight trashtalk made this look really, really bad.
Well at least he didn't do a Samuel Peter. :yep For the record, here were the judges' scorecards after 4 rounds: 40-35, 40-34 and 40-34.
BJ never quit becuase he never even got started. I would like to say that his mind left the building the moment the firts round started, but tbh i think his mind left him when he knew the fight was made. atsch Did Penn even train for this damn fight? He looked like garbage and made a fool out of himself with all the **** talk he did before the fight. Tha was a pathetic performace form Penn. It was as bad as De La Hoya's against Pacquiao, if not worse. PS WAR Machida!!!!!!!!! Machida made SIlva look like a bad sparring partner. :good
That's the danger in engaging in that kind of pre-fight talk. It can certainly come back to haunt you.
BJ lost the fight but he gets my vote for quote of the night when he said that he wanted to take GSP's soul. I'm almost as excited for Alves/GSP as I am for a potential Silva/GSP fight.
i agree. BJ quit. he was given a chance to say hr wanted to go on and didn't respond. so fitting considering the **** he talked saying GSP was a ***** and that you would never see him quit. HA.
Alves vs GSP should be a good fight. Lets hope Alves doesn't do anything stupid and comes bang on weight. Karo looked bad yesterday. It was clear during his enterance that something was wrong. Normally he is always running to the cage and looked pumped. I thought Dong nicked it but he has to blame himself because Karo was there for the taking and he never fully took advantage.
