It seems Dana White want to replace the HW title bout with the LHW title bout, because Serra and Hughes cant be the main event... Rumors has it that Rashad will defend his title in May, UFC 98. Rampage was supposed to have his shot, but I could see him not accept that fight, because 3 fight in 5 months is insane.. Lyoto would jump in that opportunity.. I just hope Rampage, don't jump in that opportunity right away. Wait for the winner between Rashad and Lyoto and have some rest! Anyway, i'm excited to see Rashad fighting right away in UFC 98, if all that talk is true. Anyway it make sense, since Serra and Hughes wont be in a maint event...
It's a really hard choice for Rampage really. He can fight Rashad in a fight he would have an excellent chance of winning the title again but with a short training camp and after two recent fights. Or wait and most likely go for a shot against Machida where he would be the underdog and have his hands more than full against a fighter who is all wrong for him. Decisions, decisions.
Yeah, its a tough decision. But I'll wait if I was him, since I do think Rashad has a better shot than him to beat Lyoto with his blazing hand speed and good wrestling. Rampage need to wait. He has a shot for the title secured, now take some rest. And he could fight Forrest as a ''tuneup'' before taking Lyoto, to revenge his loss, and being more confident. 205 is seriously nice
While I'd like him to KTFO Rashad, I think as a fan of his I'd rather wait, get some rest and go in against Machida and give him hell. Even if he loses. There's still plenty of talent in the 205 division that he could fight to build a legacy so to speak.
