I had no idea who would win this fight and Anderson Silva is not Rashad Evans. It seems that some of you have short memories when it comes to Silva. Silva is the better fighter.
Dude, you've been quoted in the other thread saying Evans will win and you've put money on it. This is Machida's time.

I don't disagree, Lyote would very likely beat Rampage if Quinton doesn't improve his game drastically. Vs. Rashad on the other hand? Rampage has all the tools to beat the **** out of him.
It is yet proven who is the better fighter. One fighter is still undefeated and has had less fights, while the other is also very, very good. Both guys are unique but different.... Both are the best in their respective divisions. At light heavyweight, I'd give Machida the advantage for being the bigger guy.
Wow, I thought Machida would outpoint Evans, I would have never guessed he would win with a flurry of punches. I see A Silva destroying Griffin in one round (Griffin cannot eat Silva's accurate ,pinpoint punches), Shogun demolishing Rampage (if fight is made). I honestly think if Silva fought Machida it would be a snoozefest because each one would know how dangerous the other is, and Machida would not try to flurry on Anderson knowing how quick and heavy handed he is, just as Anderson may not try to thai clinch, or get anywhere near Machida knowing his power and takedown skills. Shogun's next fight should say a lot about the future of the 205lb division.
Overall an enjoyable card tonight. I can't believe that Sherk fought so stupidly tonight against a guy throwing at him from all angles. His arms are too damn short too just try to counterpunch guys that have height and reach advantages on him. I'm starting to think that he doesn't come into the ring with any kind of gameplan at all. Sonnen dominated. McFedries gave us a nice sizzling KO. The Serra/Hughes fight was a bit of a let down. First it wasn't as intense as it should have been for two guys that hate each other - and second Serra got jobbed. He definitely won the first round and then sealed the third round with his strong takedown of hughes and mutliple submission attempts. Machida did what he was supposed to and picked Rashad apart. Good showing for Little Inoki.
atsch I said Evans TKO/KO five and you took it way too seriously. Did you see me making any avatar bets. Most mother ****ers had no idea who would win this fight and i was one of them. My Evans TKO 5 comment was a last minute guess.
Rampage is the only guy I know that can be mounted for like 4 straight minutes nearly guillotined, triangled, americanaed. Had his left leg kicked in,got outworked and out landed but got robbed. If he doesnt land his 1 uppercut in the 1st the fight is arguablly a shutout.
Told ya something musta happened earlier Kyle Bradley grasped his first Octagon victory in three outings with a controversial first-round TKO against debutante Phillipe Nover in their lightweight bout. Bradley shrugged off Nover’s first takedown attempt, then connected on “The Ultimate Fighter 8” runner-up with a stinging right hand. Reaching for a single leg, Nover slipped forward onto his face. Referee Yves Lavigne stepped in and halted the bout, but backed away when a cognizant Nover rolled onto his back. With the fight still in play, Bradley landed some glancing blows on the 25-year-old Nover. Lavigne intervened a second time and waved off the bout just as Nover rose to his feet, much to the Brooklyn, N.Y., native’s and the rabid crowd’s disapproval. The official time was 1:03, while replays inside the arena did little to bolster referee Lavigne’s actions
You have to respect the fighters that got MMA where its at now. Like Royce Gracie ..singlehandedly (along with Rorion) built this sport. But you need to know that the skillset he has isnt good enough to compete with todays MMA. Rampage although still current is slowly getting behind. And in this sport, talent pool as shallow as it is, that little edge that Machida has magnifies tenfold when in the ring. I am telling you now, barring an injury Rampage will never beat Machida, will not hit him will not hurt him.
http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=4106969&postcount=170 But Quinton is much more than a "glorified streetfighter", he has good hands for a mma fighters, a great chin, decent wrestling which combined with his freakish strength lets him hang on the ground with fighters that have much better grappling credentials than him, like Arona and Henderson. And the Forrest loss? I'll be the first do admit that he fought like a ****ing ****** in that fight, which has more to do with his trainer and gameplan, than with Quinton being a bad fighter.
