UFC champ Anderson Silva says 'no way' to superfight with Jon Jones

Styles make fights. When Jones fights Sonnen, I seriously doubt that he'll ever be put in any position that Silva was in either of his fights with Sonnen.

 

Let Jones move up to fight Junior and get rag dolled like a ***** and knocked senseless then.

 

He has been dominating MW for years, he should have stepped up years ago to 205 lbs, MW is a **** division, real legacy & exciting fights are at 205, not 185.

I can`t believe some people are such fanboys they`d rather their fav fighters kept taking the easiest fights rather than the most competitive fights :-(

And some say this guy is greater than Fedor ? GTFO

 

Fedor gets the Iron Mike treatment, besides JJ and teammates there is no competition at LHW.

Like I said in another post, this is the fight game.. If you don't understand it and can do nothing but complain about a fighter's decision making in the twilight of his career then I shouldn't be wasting my time with you.

 

When discussing Jon Jones, 205 is a weak, stagnant division.

When discussing Anderson, 205 is where all the good competition is at.

 

Its the thing that irks me the most about a sport like boxing and MMA

****ing challenge yourselves for **** sake, instead of finding the easiest safest route to money

Sadly not every fighter has the desire to truly challenge themselves like a Marquez, Morales or Penn

People are surprised? This is the same guy who was suppose to avenge his best friend after his brutal knockout loss to Shogun and then went all buddy buddy on Shogun to avoid the fight. :yep

Similar to what he's doing to Jones. Anderson is the most well managed fighter in the history of the sport.

 

When discussing Jones, he cleared it out because it's an easy weightclass filled with past prime fighters.

When discussing Anderson, he didn't try because it is too strong of a division.

Exactly. Dominant champions make divisions appear weaker than they really are. Perhaps we would view 185 as a super stacked division if Anderson wasn't a dominant champion for so many years now. He has been so dominant at 185, that the UFC has only had four other MW champs in its history.

The same "this guy has to move up to truly prove himself" discussion is happening with Jones right now as well.

 

MW in the UFC has never been anywhere close to a stacked division. Even before Silva was champion. It's always been the weakest division in the promotion.

In Pride however...

 

It doesnt make sense for the UFC. Dana wouldnt let his only future star Jones get ruined by Anderson who is not only near the end of his career but also doesn't buy Danas BS.
