For all you that think MMA is "the ****." I dispute that claim with the current UFC champ Brock "the professional wrestler" Lesnar. Only in MMA could you win a title in your 5th pro. fight lol. Get him 5 pro boxing matches and then put him in the ring with Either one of the Klitschos. What a joke.
he won it in his 4th fight. Also, Brock Lesnar is no joke with wrestling.. Sure its haha funny that he wrestled in WWE but what he did in college was unbelievable.
he was great in college but i still think if ricky the dragon steamboat entered UFC he could take the belt
Didn't Leon Spinks win the heavyweight championship from Muhammad Ali in his seventh fight? So what's your point? Let's not get on with pointless hating.
He won tonight on size and strength. I didn't see anything skill wise. He took him down, laid on him, and hit him a few times. Well... he will be heavier and stronger then any current heavyweight boxer. So let him get 5 fights, and fight a top 10 boxer. NEVER HAPPEN. Boxing is pure skill.
Im not disagreeing. Boxing is all about striking skill and perfecting it. MMA you have so many things you can do protect, way more than boxing. Lesnar has taken what he does best. You cant knock him for not being fluid like Anderson Silva. Lesnar is a great wrestler and controlled Mir who before submitted him. So clearly there is a way to beat Lesnar.
Your reasoning is a joke. You have **** for brains. Lesnar already has years of experience in wrestling. "Before gaining prominence in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), Lesnar was an accomplished amateur wrestler winning the 2000 NCAA wrestling championship and placing second in 1999" OF COURSE this guy wouldn't stand a chance against the klitschkos because he's not a ****ing boxer ! And that's why he's in mma. It's a natural continuation in his career since this sport , unlike boxing , allows him to use his wrestling.
Boxing is certainly about skill but there are many skills involved in MMA as well. Just as in boxing there are many subtleties at play the same is true for MMA - for example - Brock used a nice quarter nelson hold to neutralize Mir on the ground. It was a smart move against a fighter with a wider repertoire of submissions.
