Plus stylistically Cormier was all wrong for him. Barnett could still make some serious noise in the UFC.

    How could he?

No matter who he beats, he'll still have to face Cormier again

Its like buying another gatekeeper to fight Gonzaga

By your reasoning then may be Nog should have given up too after he got smashed up by Fedor. Or what about Dans colleague Cain? May be he should call it a day too...But wait he went on to own JDS....This is the hurt business. Any fight can change on a dime. Nothing is a given. Josh has plenty to offer in other fights including a rematch with Dan.

Sure Dana has a say but when if he only has 9% power then he doesnt have the final say

He also said Kimbo Slice would never fight in the UFC......He also said the UFC don't do freak show bouts and yet James Toney got a cool half a million dollars to fight Randy Couture in what was a clearly a waste of everyones time...You get the message....His word has never meant anything. The guys a promoter/salesmen. All that matters is the $$$. And Barnett is a guy who can make the UFC money.

If he fights in the UFC, which seems like the right move for all concerned, he probably won't have to worry about facing Cormier again. Cormier is apparently headed down to 205, and if Cain stays champ and Cormier stays there, Josh can keep away from him fighting the heavies. :deal

    :hat

I thought it was because Fedor didn't want to be tied down to the UFC if he was champion. Slave contract they called it if I remember correctly.

Fedor had no interest whatsoever in signing with the UFC and was very CLEAR about this. It was Dana who made up whole load of bull**** about Fedor and M1 when Fedor refused to entertain any of the exclusive terms that the UFC always write into their contracts.

Have you seen the HW division? Did you see the Gonzaga/Rothwell fight last night? You think that Barnett couldn't beat those guys. He's easily one of the top guys in the division which, overall, is a toilet.
