The story just doesn't make any sense, Yair stepped up to fight Edgar yet he's scared of Mago? Sounds like more BS from the fat pathological liar.

Zabit Magomedsharipov is a weight bully. He's 6'1'' at 145 lbs featherweight. He's not even that good doesn't sit down on his strikes. Just flashy kicks and flashy punches. His wrestling isn't that great, either. The guy he fought was much smaller than him and he didn't dominate at all. He's supposedly great in sparring/training apparently and can do it all.

It isn't against the contract to turn down fights. Nate Diaz does it all the time. I do however think he should've taken the fight with Lamas earlier on.

I get that Nate Diaz/Conor brings in money but i don't think it's fair to cut a guy who was considered a prospect and hyped up before losing to Edgar. Yair Rodriguez beat Dan Hooker who is more proven than Zabit Magomedsharipov. Dan Hooker is also big at the weight.

It kinda annoys me also Lorenz Larkin was let go yet they keep crappy women's mma fighters like Paige who isn't a real fighter.

You get numerous people in various combat sports who are great in the gym or in sparring yet, for whatever reason, seem to leave their 'A' game in the gym, or who don't perform to the best of their abilities in fights when the pressure is really on them to do so (a lot of times the former can affect the latter). Adrien Broner is like a variation of this, inasmuch as he can't seem to will himself to get it done in high-pressure scenarios in which he isn't able to weight bully an opponent (vs Maidana, vs Porter, vs Garcia, and even in the fights with Granados and Malignaggi to an extent). From what you're saying, Zabit strikes me as being one of those guys and, if so, May well lose two or three fights out of his next five as he attempts to step up further in the 145 rankings, will wash out, and eventually get cut from UFC.

I agree with that. In my opinion, If Paige VanZant wasn't such a looker, the UFC would've cut her by now for losing two of her last three fights at Strawweight before moving up to Flyweight and losing her debut there. (That said, I'm not really too sure how deep those two women's divisions are.) As you alluded to in your post, Yair Rodriguez -- a promising fighter with an exciting style who lost to Frankie Edgar after being stepped up too soon for him -- was cut from UFC for way, way less.

Yair knocked back a couple of fights they offered him not just the Zabit fight but I still don't like the decision at all as I enjoyed watching his fights and he could end up being 1 of the best in the division.

Unfortunately for Yair it seems he isn't established enough in the company or big enough draw because if he was a bigger star there's no way they would cut him,im a huge Diaz brothers fan but they have knocked back so many fights without fear of this happening to them.

TBH I don't really blame Yair for not wanting to fight Zabit like many others who have knocked back fighting him,it just would have been a terrible fight for him imo especially coming off that loss to Edgar.

White basically came out recently out telling fighters to accept fights if they're offered them or else! Just when you thought this loudmouthed idiot couldn't get any more repulsive.... He somehow manages to push the envelope.
Yair wisely wanted to take a few steps back and some time off after a bad loss. That bald idiot and many others simply view the fighters as cattle. For this reason the UFC will lose more and more talent to Bellator and newer competitors like ACB/FNG and Rizin.

I think this is the key factor here: guys who are largely established and / or proven draws have carte blanche to say no and knock back certain fights proposed to him if they don't want them.

For what's worth, Conor is such a monster draw for the UFC that he could probably knock back proposed fights with Khabib and the now-injured Tony Ferguson at 155 (two guys who are so wrong for him stylewise, it isn't even funny: Uncle Dana doesn't want to throw McGregor in with either of those animals), and instead go up to 170 and fight Cerrone or Thompson (both relatively small Welterweights as far as I'm aware, so there wouldn't be a massive weight difference) or -- more intriguingly -- challenge Woodley for the 170 title once he returns from injury. As far as a potential Woodley vs McGregor fight goes, well, "The seed was already planted!"

I agree with this post for the most part. But I think Conor KO's Ferguson without much issue.... Tony's just too easy to hit and can definitely be hurt.

Also, his knee injury appears to be a very bad one, so I suspect he just won't have the same range of movement when he does return.

I kind of agree but sadly being a star in another org. doesn't mean a whole lot financially or for his career compared to being back in the UFC in the current enviroment.
The fighters need to come together to put pressure especially on the UFC to improve conditions including most importantly job security, increased minimum pay and overall fair pay increases in line with the huge tv deals.
It will take some big names and champions to probably get it going but the fighters need to be unionised so situations like with Yair won't happen where fighters are pressured into taking fights or risk there future .

Not true. a lot of these guys who leave the UFC make more as free agents i.e big fish in small ponds.
