Anybody else notice this and bothered by it? I have seen the commercial for Penn vs Sanchez about 100 times and every time I watch it I get annoyed at it. It is all about Diego Sanchez, and makes it like Penn is the "opponent" in the fight. BJ Penn has been dominating the LW division and has STOPPED everyone in his tracks, not forgetting to mention he is top 4 P4P fighters in the world and one of the greatest MMArtists of all time. Diego barely got by Guida and won a boring decision against Stevenson, a man BJ bloodied, bashed and bitched.

Is the UFC trying to get rid of BJ?

I doubt it. I have not seen any ads for it. But if the UFC arn't giving BJ his props it would seem very weird at best.

The UFC is probably just trying to get as many people to watch the fight as possible. It isn't a mistake to remind every Spike viewer that one of the Original Ultimate Fighter winners is fighting. Hardcore fans will want to see Penn no matter what. Also, by hyping up Diego they make it seem as if this is going to be a competitive close fight, which sells better than a one sided schooling.

The UFC wants money more than it wants to disrespect one of it's champions, I think.

Are you stupid? They're doing it for the opposite reason. They're trying to get more buys and advertise Diego Sanchez as a credible threat, problem is there isn't, no-one's a threat to BJ. Buys wouldn't be as great if UFC put out an advert with Penn destroying everyone and saying "yeah, this guy's gonna win again."

Am I stupid? No. Lesnar is hyped as the best heavyweight alive, Machida was hyped to hell "Machida Era" anyone to sell the Rua fight, Silva is hyped as the best fighter alive to sell his fights, GSP is the center of the hype for his fights. But Penn who is just as dominant in his division as all of those guys gets bypassed and Diego takes center stage in the hype? No I'm not stupid, just posting my views on the internet dude.

I felt the same way Beware like when they say Lightweight Champion BJ Penn then they cut to Diego attack Clay Guida with Rogan screaming "DIEGO IS ALL OVER HIM"

You are reading far too much into it.

What do you want them to say?

"Tune in as BJ continues his decade long dominance of a division and finishes another guy who is pretty good, but totally outmatched!"

I think it might be a case of them trying to build up Sanchez. Make people think this is a 50-50 fight.

Penn is not dumb. He will leave zuffa. This is not a bad thing.

As far as zuffa disrespecting fighters, the answer is of course. We're talking about the slime ball, bankrupt Fertittas. They ruined their father's business by screwing over employees and pocketing profits wallstreet style. They won't even pay their medical bills for Mikey Burnetts neck surgery.

I don't think you know much about the Fertittas. We can thank mma bloggers for that. Sherdog and those people refuse to direct any criticism the fertittas' way.

kill zuffa, kill it to hell
