    IB's RBR disclaimer:

DO NOT ASK FOR LINKS! Do not hint for them. Do not ask "what channel?". Do not make any post that could be interpreted as insinuating a link request, even if it sounds innocent (ie stuff like "Gee, I don't have a way to watch this" or "if only this was televised where I live...")

The folks at ESB do not want to get sued and therefore have adopted a VERY strict policy of zero-tolerance on stream requests to cover their butts.

    Thank you.

PS. My only other request is that, as a matter of courtesy, you refrain from posting spoilers if you are aware of undercard results that most people are going to see televised on delay. Please also don't spoil results from other unrelated events here. Thanks

Sad to see a legend like Shogun being used to prop up the resume of mediocre fighters like Smith and Pedro. Even 3-4 years ago he'd have cut through those guys like butter, nevermind in his prime.

Same version of Shogun same result. He looked completely shot against Smith though.

I'll favor most of the top-15 in the LHW division against post-2011 Shogun. First complete humiliation when he fought Jones, and then he lost a war against Hendo. Haven't been the same since.

From his recordlist i could imagine prime Shogun was from 04-09 or something like that. I didn't follow the sport back in the pride-days.

Idk. LHW is complete ****. I think a post 2011 Shogun for at least a few years(on a good night) is still a top 10(certainly top 15 guy) at the weight.

For what it's worth, I still think even this version of Shogun would give the current Sam Alvey that work. He would chase that man down just like Little Nog did! :sisi1

It's the entire practice of feeding vastly faded greats to up-and-comers -- and people acting like it actually means anything when the young lion wins -- that I don't like. I still think UFC will try and feed Little Nog to Smith at some point.

Would be hilarious if Lil Nog zombied him like he did Alvey. I'll never count a Big brother out under any circumstances but yeah Smith would probably starch him early.

Smith is likely past that stage right now. But if he fights Jones, Gus or even Reyes he prob gets a reality check, and might look for another way past-prime HOF to build a winning streak.

I don't rate the post Pride Rua that highly at all, apart from a couple of fights in the UFC he just never was able to get to that level again seemingly always carrying some kind of injury, never being able to string any more then 2 wins together

I dont either but the LHW division today is dismal outside of a handful of guys.

Sure I agree totally and it's that bad that this shell of what was Rua would have likely been fighting for a title if he had beaten Smith in his last fight.
