To give us something to talk about besides James Toney. 11th January 2010 MAIN CARD Nate Diaz vs. Gray Maynard Evan Dunham vs. Efrain Escudero Tom Lawlor vs. Aaron Simpson Brad Blackburn vs. Amir Sadollah PRELIMINARY CARD Chris Leben vs. Jay Silva Jesse Lennox vs. Rick Story Nik Lentz vs. Thiago Tavares Mike Guymon vs. Rory MacDonald Kyle Bradley vs. Rafael dos Anjos Gerald Harris vs. John Salter Nick Catone vs. Jesse Forbes Not a massive event but there are still some quality fights on the card. Nate Diaz could well end Maynard's hopes of a title shot at 155lbs with his great ground game. Diaz is very good off his back, which will be vital against a wrestler like Maynard, who is going to relentlessly take him down. I'm especially looking froward to Escudero/Dunham - two talented, undefeated lightweight prospects going at it. I favour Escudero in this one, he looks like he has all the tools needed to be be a future star. Also keep an eye out for superb wrestler and middleweight prospect Aaron Simpson, who is 6-0 with all his wins coming by KO or TKO. Amir Sadollah is also worth a watch, with his come-from-behind submissions and his new Muay Thai skills. I think Brad Blackburn will get stopped here.
Can't wait for Diaz Vs Maynard should be a non stop battle on the ground. Hope Diaz can pull something off.
I think Maynard has improved a lot since they fought on the show, I would make him a pretty heavy favorite. Maynard might actually keep it standing, I doubt Nate could take him down, and Maynard has good power. Really looking forward to Tom Lawler, he is a great prospect and still a little underrated, although people are starting to notice him.
Maynard has used his standup to win alot of his fights latley. He picks his spots and has been winning Ud's. He's still undefeated and if he should win this fight should be the clear #1.
The most intriguing bout on the card is mike guymon vs rory macdonald. It should be televised over amir saddollough. Who is everyone calling in that fight.
What interests you so much about that fight, elmaldito? I'll admit I don't know much about either man, King of the Cage isn't a promotion I have seen much of.
Rory is a great exciting fighter. undefeated and all his fights ending before the distance. he is still very young and a great prospect for the UFC. it would be interesting if he had a big run at WW and we had an all canadian title match.
Lawlor vs Simpson is a damn good fight, Lawlor is impressive as hell so far, both in this fight and his career.
Very interesting now, never seen a Lawlor get out grappled on the ground, and never seen Simpson get out sprawl and brawled; both guys seem incredibly promising.
