i dont see it. wrestling based fighter, he has a big right hand for mma, but i bet it wouldn't be that significant amongst the elite in boxing.

Boxing is not about how hard you can throw one punch, it's about how well you can put together accurate combinations while keeping your balance with good timing and coordination. Something Toney said before his fight with Holyfield was "I'm the best puncher he's ever faced. Not the hardest, but the best." That's totally true. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Shane Carwin can put as much into a single punch as one of of the Klits, but he'd have his whole body behind it and be way off balance and open to counters etc whereas good pro boxers keep their balance and can throw hard combos of punches. If Hendo would have become a boxer instead of a wrestler turned mma fighter he would have fought much differently than he does now of he'd have failed bigtime.

I think he would have got outboxed alot. Repeated pounding would result in some serious damge, TKO and maybe KO. Tyson had a great chin but ask again come round 10 with a double leg for comfort!

Hendo can whack and it works well because his chin and wrestling help him out in MMA but he isn't an unstoppable force. Remember when Fedor, Feijao, Shogun etc have him in shakey moments. A specialist would make those situations worse.
