ufc hall of famer knocked out in a bar fight

I dislike UFC as much as anyone but he clearly wasn't interested in fighting the guy.

 

most likely he was drunk, anybody while drunk can get knocked out but wow he told him to punch him then he got knocked out, thats sad.

 

From what I've seen of UFC fighters, most of them if not ALL tend to have weak glass mandibles.

 

Weak chins are selected out quickly in boxing, unless their talent lets them compensate. Bare fist is also a different ball game. Less surface area so it's much easier to get knocked out if it hits the sweet spot on the chin/jaw. This is assuming the puncher doesn't break his hands.

 

Anybody can get knocked out. Real life isn’t a competition and both were likely drunk and Penn was dumb enough to let a guy to punch him when both his hands were down.

I’ve seen plenty of boxers get knocked out in the street when I used to rent to boxers and frequent gyms with my trainer several years ago. Several years back In Santa Monica at Habit burger Jose Benavidez and his father got knocked out by some guy in the parking lot they were arguing with.

I also seen Nonito Donaire get knocked out in front of Nazo’s boxing supply, since he got into it with Nazo’s son about something and foolishly cussed out Nazo. Although admittedly Nazo’s son has fast hands and it doesn’t hurt that his father was an Olympic boxing coach.

 

This. Pro fighters need to stick to fighting in the ring where they actually get paid for it and don’t have to worry about picking up criminal charges or getting sucker punched. Penn likely could’ve walked away from that fight before it escalated.

 

To be fair, that was a sweet left hook that flattened him.

 

BJ Penn is 40 years old and hasn't won a MMA match since 2010. He was champ 10 years ago.
Don't **** on another sport just because it's not what you like.

And by a beautiful left hook.
And even after being in total control before, just making the classic mistake of having all 4 of the above.

 

You realize this isn't a "champ" right? He's got almost as many losses as wins and is on a 7 fight losing streak. He's 40 years old and let a bigger guy hit him with a free shot while seemingly drunk. Context, it's important. Also, there's another video that I believe is after this where he took the guy down and beat him up.

 

UFC guys are really tough for the most part,,,,skilled? not so much, I don't watch it

 

He stupidly gave the guy two free shots to the face. He could've utterly destroyed that guy if he wanted. Hes a drunk idiot.
