Probably some, but you wont hear of it because they train to be boxers. All striking, unless MMA fighters who tend to train in all areas of the game.

No doubt Brock would have been in the NFL I just think he was a bit green remember he did not play college ball. I read awhile back all the numbers that they used for Mario Williams at the Combine in 06 all of those sick numbers that fantastic DE put up that Lesnar actually had better ones when he was trying out. Lesnar is a freakish athelte he couldve probablly be a quality NFL player.

I don't have any idea what everyone is whining about, M.M.A requires a lot more talents than boxing. I box, but would not be able to put up the fight that these guys do, M.M.A takes a lot of stamina, speed and endurance.:nono

It always amuses me when boxing fans say they aren't concerned about mma, hate mma and/or look at MMA at second rate...yet they're constantly bitching about it.

Boxing fans should be worrying about their own sport which is a financial wreck and not try to hound anything they consider to be competition. It's petty and infuriating when a boxing fan tries to start something over MMA...especially when they don't have any room to gripe.

And this is from a boxing fan first and foremost.

Hey **** for brains, care to admit this comment was ****ing ******ed given the amount of national, international, and olympic champions in MMA in many different sports?

How about you just name one boxer who was world class in another sport besides boxing? James Toney was a good high school football player, and RJJ played some semi-pro basketball; hardly world class wouldn't you say?

No. Nearly everyone in MMA comes from something else, either a sport that's amatuer and doesn't attract great athletes or a another sport they weren't very good at. These guys being good at wrestling or bjj is a bit like me pointing out most top boxers were great amatuers. Just the way it is, stop being such a foul-mouthed woman about it.

Man, doesn't it REALLY suck to like, say something out of your ass like MMA fighters couldnt be world class athletes in other sports and boxers can, just to find out that many MMA athletes ARE world class athletes in other sports and you can't think of a single boxer that is?

I can't even imagine how big of a douchebag you must feel like right now.

Not great athletes? You are absolutely insanely stupid. Wrestling and Judo are two of the most participated sports in the world, pretty much every country in the world participates in them. Are you actually that ****ing stupid to say that wrestling does not attract "great athletes"?

You have to be an absolutely amazing, elite level athlete to compete in either, and then adding in the incredible amount of other skills it takes to be a world champion in MMA, and you have some of the best athletes in the world.

A guy like Lindland proved he was one of the best athletes in the world by winning a silver medal in the olympics, he then changed sports and became one of the worlds elite in a rather different sport. Name one living boxer who has done something similar?

Not only are there elite athletes crossing over into MMA, but there are guys like GSP who can go up against guys who have proven to be elite world class athetes, and outshine them athletically.

There is no more indisputable PROOF of ahtleticsim than being world class in one sport and then going into a different sport and becoming world class in that.

So when idiots like you and Inferno say that MMA fighters are not great athletes it is an absolute joke; there is undeniable proof that MMA fighters can and have been world class in other sports, much more so than boxers.

What did I lie about? All the guys are coming from effectivly feeder sports. I watch someone like Gamboa and think he could of been a great footballer, tennis player, athletics star. I've never felt the same about an MMA fighter.

You guys are far too defensive.

Wrestling and Judo are not "feeder" sports, they are two of the most competitive sports in the world, they require a world class level of athleticism to compete at a high level in, let alone win an olympic medal in. Success on the world or even national stage in either of these sports proves, absolutely, that somebody is an insanely talented athlete. Adding in a different sport altogether, and becoming world class in that is as good of a test that could possibly exist. But hey, you can't see Kevin Randleman playing basketball or darts or whatever the **** it is you are using in your imagination, I guess you are really on to something

MMA fighters have proven that they are world class athletes in two separate sports, that is the very definition of athleticism. To think that somebody who can be world class in two separate sports is not athletic is ****ing stupid; in short, you are ****ing stupid.

Felt? This isn't about your emotions sweetheart. There's solid fact that there are a lot more MMA fighters that come from other sports competing at high level and translate to MMA and become champions or some of the best in the world.
It's not defensive, it's you spitting BS and arguing when all facts are against you.

Of course they are. You don't much junior or amatuer MMA do you? The fighters have to come from somewhere.

No need. You argue with you emotions and not logic or facts. Women argue with emotions. There's no reasoning with you.
