are the numbers audited yet? or are still out of the ufc's mouth?

    does anyone know?

7 out of 10 is expected and not much of a surprise

You have to look at the fact UFC puts on a PPV every single month as well. Also, UFC matches are shown on Spike as well (so advertising to people with cable).
Typically boxing doesn't have that many ppvs and if they do...they are advertised on channels that cost: HBO & Showtime.
Also Brock Lesnar is part of 2 of those PPVs as well, and I don't see him being as much as of a draw right now.
UFC is big though, but don't make anywhere near the $ that boxing does. You go to a huge boxing match, and you have some of the most recognized celebs on earth...You go to a UFC event and you get one of the guys from Jersey Shore, or a pro wrestler to check out on t.v.

Britney Spears is bigger than Isis. :conf

I don't really care or pay attention to what's bigger than what, on the assumption that the majority of people are idiots.

You have to hand it to UFC because theyve over saturated and put on a few weak cards and theyve been selling better than ever. I dont know what business formula theyre using but it certainly is very counter intuitive.

The sad thing is that over in the boxing forum the majority of the threads are:

    1. Hypothetical fantasy fights along the lines of "Marciano vs. Lewis"
    2. Pacman this or Floyd that..
    3. Why won't Evander or Roy retire?
    4. Wlad vs Haye and why one or the other is afraid
    5. "______" was overrated
    6. When is _____ coming back?

In other words... nothing to talk about but rehash the same old BS over and over again. No "highly anticipated" fights on the horizon and less than a handful of superstars.

Meanwhile, UFC and Strikcforce have some great events planned.

Could be true, it certainly doesnt help boxing. And much respect to Dana in a sense that he wanted Floyd to fight and was making fun of him even if in turns that the superfight will bring Boxing back. Did I say counterintuitive?

yea i know people who dont follow boxing much and are only interested in the heavyweight division. not having a mike tyson or holyfield in the heavyweight is hurting boxing popularity.

UFC puts out more noteworthy PPV events. People know who UFC fighters are because they get more exposure to the general public by putting their pre-lims out for free. You had the WEC being free and they have countdown shows for their PPVs. The only people that get that sort of exposure and countdown shows are Mayweather and Pacquiao nowadays, and the people who happen to be fighting them. Boxing doesn't have the exposure of MMA.
