I agree, thats when less **** was illegal and much more exciting to watch. Guys like Shamrock, Gracie, Abbott, and Kimo, thats when it was more of a street fight. **** now I see guys throw punches wider than Viciousboxer and guys like Joe Rogan say how his striking technique is so amazing, I spit out my beer laughing so hard at that **** last night.

The problem is even so called good cards on paper turns out to be bust..ie Hendo/Rampage...Jardine/Liddell

I want to see show of skills..excitement..fans love to see that..

for example when BJ is in the cage..whether you like him or not..you are on the edge what will he do?..what submission will he attempt?

    same for anderson

Then you have guys like Karo - all talk and supposed skills..finish a damn fight..not all the time just for once!

Now they bring these hyped pride fighters..Shogun..choked...Crocop Koed ..cant be good..now Houston has crashed...

this is a problem..how often do you see a great boxer like Bhop, PBF, PAC, just lose randomly to a nobody?? never...its skills..and cardio..

dont climb the mountains in training..which they always show...look at Rashad damn running on hills in the desert..youd think what a cardio workout!!

wow 2 minutes and his mouth is wide open ..from throwing 2 punches

    and shooting twice

most of these fighters are farce plain and simple..

Again Rashad/Bisping 3 kicks the whole 15 minutes...jesus its MMA its mixed you can kick

In boxing unskilled sluggers often get more respect and sell more tickets than highly skilled pure boxers. This is essentially why ufc has become popular. What you get with ufc is poorly trained unskilled streetfighters coming out for a blood and guts fight. The fans like it. If a two martial artists ever got into the cage, they would get as much respect as Joan Guzman and Juan Manuel Marquez because neither of them would be dumb enough to get kicked in the head or kneed in the face.

Here was me looking forward to watching this PPV later today. Damn it. I enjoy UFC to a point, but it's not a patch on boxing.

I really cant see how people get into that ****, the pucnhes they were throwing were a joke. If they honestly trained in boxing at all, that boxing gym should be closed immediately. I swear to god Zelenoff has more boxing skills than these guys, how sad is that.

And its not like they train kicking..because they dont ****in kick:lol:

You figure 10 hours training a day..just hit the damn bag and watch some boxing videos..

and you notice that if there was a KO by some chance..its always a lucky punch:lol:

Like that Herman ****..he was like" did I hit him? what happened?" and then he said he knew he had a great left hook..

Heck yeah Charlie punches better and its not a joke:lol:

I can go on and on with the UFC

I know, I used to kinda like UFC back in the day, now it aint even close to street fighting anymore. Some of the guys do have skills, but almost all the ones I seen last night didnt. The only one I was impressed with was the guy that beat Alexander, he was pretty good.

Yeah he was agressive from the beginning punching and kicking even though he was supposedly a BJJ expert which he proved.

And the funny thing is the guy speaks no english..great:patsch

True, I watch UFC sometimes, but it definitely cant touch the excitement boxing brings to the table IMO. Im kinda glad the UFC pushed boxing to put on better matches this year, other than the heavyweight division boxing was at its best in 07 thanks to the UFC.:good

Most ridiculous thing I've ever read, do you have any idea how many genuinely skilled martial artists try their hand at MMA. Do you realise most guys in UFC are highly skilled martial artists?

But yeah, last show was a bit ****. Next one looks great on paper, though. Serra/Hughes, Wanderlei/Chuck and Lyoto/Sokodjou? Bring it on.
