The press conference today was pretty damning, had a series of cashed checks showing that Randy made 2.9 mil for his 2 recent fights; whoever is handling Coutures money or whispering advice in his ear is not doing their job, period.

That ugliness out of the way, they stated they will offer Randy a fight against Nog for February, although this may just be a stalling tactic, or a legal move to either put Couture into breach or prevent Couture from being able to put them in breach. Hopefully it isn't those things though, hopefully there is a shot that its going to actually happen.

It would be an exciting fight, and I think Couture would take it.

It seems somebody has been getting numbers mixed up? Maybe his new wife has been robbing him blind or is Don King his Manager? But it would be nice to see him in the ring again.

I dunno, i think it could go either way. I think it all depends on Nog and what Nog comes out.

I am wondering if they are showing what Randy made, TOTAL... including his sponsers.. or just what they paid him.

Also, I think that this is just a move to force Randy into a situaton where they will take him to court if he tries to fight somewhere else.

It will be just what they paid him as a sponorship deal is seperate.

Does anyone have the video of the press conference?

I also heard Dana made more comments about Fedor again, called him a farce, said he was never a top 5 heavy and in actual fact never wanted to sign him but did so just because Randy was so desperate to fight him.

I dont man, Ive seen Nog get beaten up so many times that a fight with Couture is not really that exciting or anticipating. I think Cro Cop vs. Couture is more intreseting than Nog. Couture should just stick to retirement unless a Fedor bout can be made.

crocop ? no way , prime crocop yeah...but now ? crocop should retire. He's a shadow of his former self. that guy used to fight against the likes of aerts , hug , fedor , barnett , feitosa etc...today , he can't even keep up against the likes of gonzaga and kongo...he's done.

I couldnt care less what Dana has to say. Randy wouldnt have raised the issue with money if there wasnt an issue. Of course Dana is going to defend himself and the UFC it was only natural that he had some form of comeback to Randys accusations.Either way the relationship is done.Randy needs to forget about the UFC and move onto other things.

I agree I dont think Randys a guy whos going to out of the blue start some big ass dispute with the company hes been with for the better part of a decade. I think hes standing up for himself and others. Honestly I hope they can salvage things id love to see Nog-Couture if Fedor isnt a relistic option.

Anyone else think Randy is just trying to force Dana into making a fight with Fedor by any means possible?

Seriously - I highly doubt MONEY is the reason Randy left the UFC. Remember, Randy is concerned with his legacy and WANTS a Fedor fight, and he is already among the most (if not THE most) highly paid MMA fighters in the world.

Dana couldnt aquire Fedor. He couldnt make the fight happen. He then went on to say Fedor isnt a top 5 heavy in the world?!?! (Incidentally this begs the question - who does he think is number 1?!??! and where is Fedor behind number 5 using Dana`s crack logic) Fedor signed to M-1 so the fight for a cert wont happen under a UFC banner. Randy has now fallen out with Dana and the UFC owners so why would he make an excuse about that? There relationship is now publically tarnished.Im pretty sure well never see Randy back in the UFC. At this stage of his career he simply doesnt need them. So what makes you think this is a ploy for Randy to get Dana to make the fight with Fedor?!?!:huh:rofl

Randy wants the Fedor fight, we know that. The word around here is that Dana lowballed Fedor so the fight didn't happen - well, what if he offered Fedor a ridiculous sum of money for the fight? If Fedor is offered a DLH-ish payday to fight Randy and refuses, then it's obvious he's ducking.

Randy's putting the screws to Dana. He wants Dana to quit ****ing around and make the fight happen, no matter what it takes.
