Do you have a source? I'd like to see that, cause I don't think Couture ever would have ducked Fedor.
Yea, but you think Fedor would have ducked Couture? Dude, forget that word. No one is ducking anyone. There are circumstances and most of the time they are not publicized. Pt. 1 http://www.rawvegas.tv/watch.php?vID...d54fb4f07b0c52 Pt. 2 http://www.rawvegas.tv/watch.php?vID...e7e9c6d0cf53e9
I don't think Fedor would have ducked Randy either, but he is the one that signed to the fledgling MMA organization when Couture was the HW champ of the world's premier one...
Its a mute point. You say you dont think Fedor was ducking Randy and in the very next sentence you hint to it. You can't win this one for Couture. Couture is the one who signed with UFC when Fedor was the undefeated HW champ of the world's premier one FOR LESS money than what he was offered to fight Fedor. At least Fedor has an excuse that he got offered more money. Couture can't make a lame excuse such as "I wanted to stick with the UFC cause im honorable like that" when he talks about how it only makes sense for him to fight the best in the world. It doesn't work that way. So, lets just stick to "no one is ducking anyone."
I never said anyone ducked anybody, I just said it was suspicious that Fedor refuses MMA's highest payday to date to join an organization that nobody has ever heard of. Just like it was equally suspicious that Randy apparently signed with the UFC when he could've fought Fedor. Both sides are to blame, here.
Thats what i was looking for. On one note though, Fedor wouldn't have gotten a better deal from UFC. So, like I've said, he has an excuse to join M-1 over UFC. Money, better deal, more freedom for SAMBO, fight any champion who desires to face him. Half those things are impossible under current UFC structure.
Bottom line, Randy feels disrespected by his employer (whether its real or not t, its real to Randy). If his employer actually cared, they would have done something about it. They did not so this is what happens. Dana needs to stop being a dictorial dickhead and give his fighters some freedom to fight who they want. I like the M-1 philosophy of wanting to work with other organizations, I hope they stay true to thier word. Why not share the profits of cross-promotional events and keep the fighters and fans happy? That is how MMA will blossom even bigger.
You mean any non-UFC champ, which at this point is almost like saying "any American football team that's NOT in the NFL". I agree with the points, though. I just don't want to see Fedor waste away in an organization that lacks proper talent to feed him.
WTF does "At this point has to do with anything?" Its the fact he has that freedom. And no, its not like comparing it to NFL, noone gives a **** about american football outside of america. And there are NO leagues outside of NFL that would have at least similar rules. Its simply not comparable. UFC does NOT have all the best fighters as you seem to believe.
I liked Fedor's response in an interview to a Q about why he did not sign with UFC. Hesmiled and said that if you have seen that contract, ou would not be asking this question. Somehow, he looked very believable saying that.
