My man Graham makes his predictions here: http://www.yourmma.tv/news/details.asp/id/1882/ufc-on-fox-2-predictions-preview.htm And that's what he's opting for. Evans late TKO Sonnen via decision Maia late submission. I can see all three going the full distance if I'm honest, but not made my mind up which way yet!
Evans KO Sonnen UD Weidmen decision Live underdogs. The UFC puts on competative fights that are decided in the cage. In boxing, predicting isn't as hard. No one can really predict what the fighters mindset is and what skills they execute come fight time because a competative fight puts you in a completely different predicament then a good stylistic match up. In each of these fights: Davis is very talented and athletic, with good wrestling and average but improving striking. Bisping has very good defensive jits, is hard to keep down and will aggressively be looking for the sub. Finally, Maia's striking has been improving for a while and his jits can always neutralise!
My picks are way up in the air.. I have none, and waited for this card for a long time. I think Rashad is going to put the hurt on Davis early, and we'll get to see what Davis is made of. Bisping and Chael are very good fighters, I like them both, but a fan of Bisping since TUF.. I see him sprawling and brawling for much of the fight, and hopefully Bisping doesn't pin him on his back for too long.. Leaning towards Bisping in this one. Haven't seen enough of Weidmen or Maia to give an honest answer, just looking forward to the show.. I might have some footage of the two in The UFC cards that I have.
I think too many people are underrating Davis, he's a solid fighter and has improved every time he's been in there. I think Davis can take this fight also, I hope Rashad isn't looking past him.
I actually like Bisping also, I find it amazing the amount of hate he get's but I don't think he get's by Sonnen. I think this could be Weidman's coming out party and wouldn't be surprised to see Davis get by Rashad.
^^Sonnen v Bisping is a classic matchup.. Grappler v Striker in my eyes. Even though the sport has evolved, these matchups always look the same.. I'm really pulling for a finish, but it would be a good 15 minutes. Great card.. Us fans can't lose tomorrow night :thumbsup
No it is not Davis is a tall rangey athletic guy , his muay thai is coming on really nicely , his hands are not the best but Rashad Evans is by no means a striker , like i said standby , because i think he's beating Rashad in all areas
