looking prettty good -Nate Marquardt vs. anthony johnson -Pat Barry (6-2) vs. Cheick Kongo (15-6-2) -Martin Kampmann (17-5; ) vs. John Howard (14-6) -Matt Brown (11-10) vs. Rich Attonito (11-4) -Joe Stevenson (31-13) vs. Javier Vazquez (15-5) -Tyson Griffin (14-5) vs. Manny Gamburyan (11-5) -Joe Lauzon (20-6) vs. Curt Warburton (7-2) -Michael Johnson (8-5) vs. Edward Faaloloto (2-1) -Matt Mitrione (4-0) vs. Christian Morecraft (7-1)
Has Tyson Griffin gone done to 145 or has Gamburyan come back up? I vaguely remember hearing about Tyson moving down Ditto with Marquardt/Johnson. Barry v Kongo will be fun to watch if nothing else. Joe Lauzon has looked great lately. Kampmann v Howard will go off like a frog in a sock. Hell, even Mitrione v Morecraft should be entertaining.
Marquardt is solid muscle at 185. I'm worried this might totally drain him. When he's on point, Nate is perhaps the most well rounded fighter bar Silva at 185. He needs to stay there and be patient. If Silva retires soon, be stands a great chance of becoming Champion.
You're kidding right? This isn't a PPV, it's worth watching for Kampmann/Howard alone, let alone the other half dozen fights on the card that should be fun as hell.
And Strikeforce cards on showtime have been blowing UFC PPV events out of the water. I guess if generally the UFC PPV cards aren't much to write home about, what should we expect for something on Versus. The reality is 85-90% of UFC PPV cards shouldn't be PPVs, but as long people keep on buying, they will continue to do it.
Totally irrelevant considering this card is very solid and promises to have some amazing fights. What exactly is it that people are expecting from these cards?
Well you're getting people in other threads argue that brock lesnar fights shouldn't be on ppv which is a sign of how warped their perspective is.
Warped is right. I guess we have to have Brock and GSP on every card, and 3 title fights, and people would still find a reason to ***** and moan.
Good card that I'll be watching. Like many other fighters, Nate is not at his natural weight. Some fighters put on muscle very easy so even though they are big, they are at their natural weight i.e. Mike Tyson. If Tyson cut weight and continously dieted then he could have maybe got to the 200 or 190 mark but he would be hurting himself. Guys like Alves, Marquardt etc are like greek statues. They are incredibly sculpted and carry an insane amount of muscle. Anyone can build muscle but natural muscle mass is not very common. The majority of people will have built in the gym and only a few will carry it like Tyson.
