UFC 136- 250k.. Disgraceful numbers for a card with two title fights. If a crash and burn is needed for The UFC to start airing half of their cards over cable, then so be it.
What card did you watch? Jim Miller vs Mac Danzig Jon Jones vs Jake Obrian Mark Coleman vs Stefan bonnar and that is only the undercard. Main: Fitch vs Paulo thiago Hendo KTFO Bisping GSP dominating in a very good fashion Thiago Alves Brock lesnar before he got exposed and before he got sick KO Mir
The PPV market has been saturated, and the injuries that have caused main events to be changed has not helped. Brock bring out for so long takes a certain bit of the extra promotion they got from networks away from them, which probably does cost them some buys. Also, they simply aren't present on cable the way they should be. The VS. **** is beyond ignorant. There is a ton of people that cannot get the network, and they stack those cards much better than they stack fight nights. It's almost an insult to the fans that they put those shows on a network that alot can't get.
Truthfully, I am fully unaware of those figures. I mean I've watched UFC 1 thru the dark ages and I dont know about you guys but the first TUF and the time of GSP vs Penn 1, Silva coming to the UFC, those were the best times for the sport. No mystery there. Then Lesnar gave it the expected bump. You have to exclude Canada because its very popular here but just look at Danas decisions the last couple of years and its not hard to fathom that he is a little "desperate". His mentality is lets get all the money NOW! Thats why hes oversaturated the market and in a rush to get a TV deal. MMA has no damn prospects! name me a few guys that you see carrying the torch in two years. I dont see any long term plans besides the "were expanding into Asia, Tazmania, Fiji" BS. Also, think about it the UFC has cannibalized the sport. They have all the damn fighters now from all the orgs and yet PPV has still gone down so that obviously didnt work. The question is, whats next Dana?
I wouldn't pay much attention to the figures to be honest. A few years back there was one PPV each month or two. Now we have over 20 or so a year. More people are watching now :deal Lynchburg
Yeah thats because theres nothing else to watch. We're not talking about the UFC (yes more people are watching the UFC). Were talking about MMA as a sport.
? We are talking about the UFC though. Anyway, I'm glad we don't have UFC on PPV over here! That would kill it in the UK! Lynchburg
i think 137 is going to be massive. at least 850,000 I know i havent been this pumped for a fight (penn vs diaz) since ortiz vs shamrock
