Beautiful Northern California. We have fights (name guys) here every weekend. The biggest names in the world come here to fight regularly. What about good ol' Australia mate? I'm trying to think of when the last big fight on that "beautiful island" was...it might be some time before I come up with something.

If the UFC is so successful, why does Dana White back up his words with inflated PPV numbers? Why are his fighters paid taxicab salaries? And why does he obviously feel threatened by boxing?

RJJ is coming down to fight soon, they don't get much bigger then that. Truth be told boxing is far from popular here in Australia (which is a shame because we have some good domestic prospects here) but MMA is making inroads, UFC has even contacted one of our major arenas so hopefully they'll be down under soon! :good

I wouldn't be bragging about Roy coming there (not at this age)...but there are definitely some tough fighters from there, that's not even arguable.

Why should posters on the MMA forum have to justify Dana Whites actions? We just want to enjoy the sport we love. If so tell me how a murderer and con artist like Don King is allowed such a prominent place in boxing? Works both ways dont it?
I think I speak for most of the posters here when I say we enjoy both boxing & MMA. But its a bit much when a poster like you says stuff like the highlighted statement above but most of your posts are based on downplayin MMA in favour of boxing? Bit hypocritical, no? A bit like having a go at Brock Lesnars WWE background when Floyd Mayweather Jr himself 'fought' in a WWE event.
Cant you just enjoy your favoured sport which I assume is boxing and if you dont like MMA dont watch. Grow up my friend!

Okay, let's see if I can grow up a bit here. You shouldn't have to justify Dana White's actions, that's your perogative. But if you don't want to justify his actions, why are you not only reading, but posting here? Now, you have to justify YOUR actions. When Don King spouts off at the mouth, we'll discuss that. And I think I too speak for most of the posters here when I say we enjoy both boxing & MMA, but it's a bit much when a spokesperson from one tries to verbally bitchslap the other. And I don't see what hypocriticism you're talkiing about. By the way, Floyd didn't come up in WWE. He didn't develop his skills there. He went there for a payday...you know, the thing MMA fighters hardly see. Sorry if that's too immature for you, but that's what I got.

Brock Lesnar didn't "come up and develop his skills" in the WWE, and if you think so you are just ignorant.

Do you guys know that Dana was opposed to the reality show idea?

If Dana was such a good businessmen and they listened to him during that time we wouldnt be talking about the UFC right now because it would buried 6ft under thanks to Dana.

He did oppose it at first. Same way Fertitta was about to sell the business. But they didn't they had a last minute change of mind and that makes them good businessmen.
If you pull your head out your ass to get some oxygen you'll notice the fact that UFC is prospering thx to Dana above anyone else.

Lesnars devoloped his wrestling in the University of Minnesota wrestling room, make no mistake about that. His skills have zero to do with his pro wrestling, which was just a pay day. His mma game has been honed by Paulson at Minnesota MMA and his BJJ by Comprido, one of the most skilled big men in the world, brought in as a special live in coach.

As far as Lesnar goes, you're right, I'm ignorant. The reason I am ignorant to Lesnar is because I truely don't care about Lesnar. There's a short list of MMA fighters that have ever impressed me and Lesnar is not on it. I didn't even realize I said he developed his skills in the WWE. That would be ridiculous. That was a stupid thing to say and I find it funny as hell right now. Absolutely...ignorant. Thank you for pointing that out to me.

Yes I admit, that was a very stupid thing for me to say. It is the laugh of the day for me easily. If you can't laugh at yourself....learn to. I think I meant to say that he built up his popularity there. Sorry folks.

Hmmm...reading back over it, I didn't say that at all. You had me going though. Still funny. And come to think of it....YOU said it. Even funnier.
