    Its not.

    They are announcing a renewed push for sanctioning and that the first event after sanctioning would be held in MSG. They will also be releasing an economic impact report on the benefits of holding an UFC event. Even if they have the Governor along with them saying he supports sanctioning (which I doubt they will) that's no change because the previous Governor supported letting MMA into NY only to be frustrated by the state assembly.

    That is the same strategy they used to get sanctioned in Ontario.It worked.April 30th at the Rogers Centre in Toronto.

    I'm not saying it won't work. I was responding to the thread starting who suggested that they were announcing sanctioning today. It just a step in the process.

    In a nutshell - when the ufc comes to town, it ain't a bad thing for the state/city. they will prove this and only old fogies will say no to human cockfighting.

    Highlight of the presser: a female journo asking if someone will get hurt, "now that you've added punches and kicks to martial arts."
