Hi I don't really follow ufc but i had a question around purses. So apparently khabib earnt 2m from the connor fight. Yet the ppv grossed over 100m? Where does all that money go? Also i heard that connor hasnt ever made over 10m for a fight. I find this staggering considering how many ppvs hes sold in his time What am i missing?
From what Dana White said at the 229 post fight press conference it takes them a while to get all the PPV side of things sorted so that 2m is the purse. The remaining revenue is sorted and paid out some time after the event. At UFC 196 McG was the first fighter to earn a 1m purse. So that puts the figures in perspective as unlikely to have topped 10m for Eddie Alvarez and possibly for Diaz II? He’ll hit the 10m for Khabib easy though.
