UFC Signs a 7 year TV US National TV deal.

Considering how Rob 'knows' his stuff, I'm sure he will be well aware that UFC's television audience has been on the wane for a couple of years - and while this deal could well make the sport even bigger in the states, it could be bad news for them, especially if their events don't attract high ratings initially. Plus they will be drawn into the dilemma of having to load up their television events with big fights, which otherwise would be on PPV.

Also, while it is a huge deal, the equivilent for boxing would be this: F.****** signs a deal with the ITV in which he is given four shows on ITV1 per year, plus a multitude of shows on either ITV2, or ITV4. While this may look great initially, where is the money going to come from if the ratings are low? OR, if the ratings are pretty good, then will the loss of PPV revenue effect business? Of course comparing UFC and FW is pretty meaningless, as they mean different things on either side of the atlantic. So, whatever.

After the Diaz post fight mugging which happened on mainstream TV, I think Fox will play it a little cautious

The TV rating have been going DOWN not up.The PPV numbers are considerably down compared to 2010.
Perhaps Fox are not as clever as they think.In 7 years UFC will go the way of WWE,here but who really cares.:deal

 

As a combat fan I want to see specialists so I watch boxing, K1, wrestling, judo, bjj on its own and to see a jack of all trades in a complete fight i watch mma.

it all pretty much the same, except the 4 fights on free to air and more money. spike is gone. what is the PPV arrangement. That is million dollar Question. This deal is better than the spike thing for sure. What is this FX like how many views can this channel get.
