No legitimate boxing fan is “scared” mma will surpass boxing. That’s like saying American NFL fans are “scared” of fútbol surpassing NFL. It’s not even close.
well when you look at it. ufc has passed boxing tbh... each ufc show brings in more revenue then probably 95% of boxing fights.. theres only a few fights a year in boxing that surpass ufc event in revenue probs. I could be wrong.
I'm no MMA guy, so I have no agenda to push, my thing's MT. But to be honest outside of N.America, Western Europe, Mexico and Cuba MMA is the number one combat sport. Asia, Eastern Europe, Russia South America....more people practice MMA in these places than boxing and more people watch it.
This is very common in Asia to compete in boxing, Kick boxing and Muay Thai at the same time but not MMA. Almost every Thai boxing champion you have heard of has done it. Balanced both MT and boxing at some point. The trouble is for top level or elite Kickboxers or Muay Thai fighters outside of HW, its not in their DNA to switch to MMA. All guys if they switch think boxing not MMA. i cant think of one elite kickboxer or MT guy outside of HW that has ever moved into MMA. All go to boxing, just look at Neicky Holtzen a few weks ago, The Klitchkos, Sor Rung Visai and so many more.
