I don't really see how you can say Nick is a better WW than any of those 3... Especially Lawler and Woodley.

    Top 10 Welterweights.

    #1 GSP
    #2 Hughes

The rest that I don't feel like ordering... Penn, Fitch, Woodley, Maia, MacDonald, Hendricks, Lawler, Condit, Shields.

Can't clearly rank him over Koscheck, Ellenburger, Sanchez, Parisyan, Alves or Kampmann either tbh. He's somewhere among this bunch.

Think saying that he's a CLEAR top 10 Welterweight is highly debatable. If he gets in it's only BARELY. But as evidenced by the names posted here that's hard to see.

Well he beat Lawler and arguably has a better resume.

Lawler himself was a failed MW who came back down to WW before having any real success.

Woodley will probably go down as a great. But then again he might lose his next fight ko1. He might defend against Nick and lose to him. I don't like ranking current stars as we don't know how they'll be remembered.

Shields, eugh. Hate watching his fights. Even more than Woodleys. Although some of his best work was at MW his greatness is a lock, I wouldn't begrudge anyone putting him above Diaz, just not sure if I would put him there myself.

When he was green. It's kind of like Jones beating Hopkins before he achieved anything of worth. It doesn't really give him any sort of edge over Lawler as far as greatness is concerned. Lawler of course tramples all over him as far as noteworthy wins at WW go and won the UFC Welterweight strap.

Well... Like with Lawler. Woodley won the UFC title and has a significant wins go in the weight class they're being compared at. Rating in terms of resume and accomplishment you'd have to rip to Woodley.

Shields for the same reasons above although to a lesser extent... You can make a better case for Nick> him than the other two. Although it's still not a very good one.

What do you think the chances of Nick coming back are??? And if he comes back does he actually accomplish anything apart from cashing out and losing another big fight? A fight with Masvidal is a match made in heaven. If Nick could win that.... I'd have no issue with him getting a crack at Woodley.

Would Lawler have beaten him at any point though?

My rankings are largely h2h based.
