Brennan gets immediately defensive and salty about the reaction (from his own hometown crowd), he knows he lost that but is playing it off. Giving the interviewer a bit of a sneer for a pretty innocuous question of "do you think you did enough?"

"I was blocking most if not all on the inside. Cleaner punches wins you the fight, it's how it goes"

Look forward to seeing him KTFO when he steps up in class.

Ali Bagodinoviç Akhmedov vs. Pierre Hubert Dibombe, 10 rounds @ light heavyweight

 

Akhmedov is a 1/9 favorite; Dibombe an 8/1 underdog.

3½″ height advantage for the Kazakh over the Frenchman.

This was scheduled for super middle but they were both 1¼ lbs over the limit.

Each man has one professional loss - Akhmedov to Carlos Gongora; Dibombe to Bektemir Melikuziev.

 

10-9 Akhmedov, controlling with the jab. Dibombe not doing much, staying behind his guard.

 

Johnathon Banks in the corner, giving Akhmedov some good advice - saying to not overreach with his right hand and just be patient and box calmly, hitting Dibombe as though he were a double-end bag in the gym instead of chasing him.

 

2nd just as quiet a chess match as the opener. Lots of mutual studying and feeling out. Akhmedov throwing and scoring more, primarily with the jab but a few straight combos and cuffing hooks off the jab here and there. Dibombe primarily with his own ambush jabs while Akhmedov is retracting his arm.

Not exactly a thriller.

 

Closer third...Dibombe might have nicked that. Akhmedov throwing hard right hand leads up top and then left hooks on the body, but Dibombe able to block both on his gloves and elbows, maneuvering each where needed while leaning back on the ropes. Dibombe moving side to side, weaving, and catching Akhmedov with slashing downward lefts.

Banks tells Akhmedov he's getting hit too much & not moving enough, and tells him that he lost that round IHO.
