    Am I missing something?

Fair enough, Khan has a lot of fans in the UK who must be betting on him winning so the bookies have to cover themselves but even so. Barrera was favourite when the odds were first drawn up; is there any other reason to change that?

What are the odds like in other countries?

What are the odds? If he's overwhelming favourite, I may just chuck a tenner on Barerra to stop Khan.

I think he should be favourite taking everything into consideration.

At ladbrokes MAB is 11/10 and Khan is 4/6

At William Hill, they're both 5/6 but Barrera was 8/11 and Khan evens so the price on Barrera is going out and it's going in on Khan.

That's for the win, I didn't check the stoppage price.

    What kind of things?

Taking Khans chin and Barrera's experience into account I thought Barrera must be clear favourite.

The odds reflect the betting market, not who the bookies think will win.

the presscot fight is enough reason to make khan a huge under dog IMO

barrera had a chance to answer alot of questions when he fought that bum, but he ended up creating more questions that need answering.

in the fight that had in china the only thing that impressed me was his jab, everything else looked slow and ugly to watch.

i'm not suprised barrera is not favourite, because its a hard fight to call, barrera was never a big puncher at featherweight so hurting khan might be difficult. the size and height advantage is huge for khan, he is quicker, he hits harder, but he doesn't have the experience that barrera brings, it could go either way and i'll probably make my prediction after watching 3 rounds of the fight.

That's because Khan will win this, very good matchmaking from Frank Warren's point of view, it'll make Khan seem like a legitimate contender again.

What about the fact that Barrera is way over the hill?

Or the fact that Barrera is a former super bantam champion where as Khan is a VERY big lightweight.

Or the fact that Khan has very impressive speed and big reach advantage?

Khan does have a china chin but has Barrera ever been a KO artist?

If Khan boxes clever and doesn't get involved in a war then I am convinced he will win.

By definition favourite just refers to the betting public's favourite, in this case Khan. For example. If Brazil played Sudan in the World Cup and 2 million people stuck a tenner on Sudan and nobody backed Brazil then Sudan would be favourites as they're the betting public's favourite. Bear in mind the bookies generally come out on top I would set too much store by what Billy Hill and Ladbroke's customer think about boxing.

Yeah, I understand the Khan is bigger, younger and stronger argument but his chin means he is always vulnerable. MAB might not be a big hitter but he hits harder than Willie Limmond who had Khan down.
You've got to think he'll land something in 12 rounds to seriously hurt Khan.

it is a pick-um and depends on which barrera shows up.

khan was KD'd by a shot Michael Gomez, so I can see how a shot Barrera can still take Khan out. especially as Barrera knows how to survive and still dish it out late in fights.

i personally think khan manages to catch barrera cleanly with some of his speedy arm-punch combinations in the first few rounds and earn a dodgy premature stoppage.
