Maybe it’s because not everyone fully buys into this patriotism stuff. Maybe if they see one guy acting like a complete dick, they’re consequently put off by him - regardless of his nationality or skin colour. So I have to agree with dave-slave when he says boxing is an individualistic sport that's more about personality, as oppose to nationality.

Now I personally will be more inclined to support a Brit fighter, but there are other factors which I tend to value more – boxing ability and personal character. Being a former Haye fan, I can say that I have been permanently put off supporting him since he became a heavyweight. For this reason, Brit or no Brit, it will be a bit of a moral injustice if a dickhead like that manages to beat Wladimir – who is not only a better person, but a better boxer too.

lol Please, it has NOTHING to do with his skin colour.

It's to do with him making comments about gang **** and wives being put into a coma!!

For ****s sake can't you see this is just a bit of showbiz? This hype is selling the fight, his trash talk got him the damn fight! Even Wlad is trash talking and doing gimmicks (50 on the hand) like never before.

Hey, would you rather they both compliment each other then touch gloves every damn round of the fight?

Expect Haye to be humble after the press conference even if he wins.

Watch Mayweather pre and post Hatton to see a prime example of this. Mayweather even gave Hatton a hug and kissed his forehead in the ring moments after knocking him out

You guys buy way too much into pre fight hype.

Haye by brutal KO round 5 by the way :good

I think most people would have been behind him. Lennox is ok, but he's not my favourite guy to be honest.

As for Haye it's his disrespecful behaviour that puts people off.

The time to be a gentleman is after a fight, how boring would the lead up to the fight be if Haye acted the exact same way as Wlad?

Personally both the Klitschko's bore me to tears out of the ring, i couldnt give a **** if they speak 5 languages and have a masters in p.e. Granted Haye has said some stupid comments in the past and his trash talking just makes him sound daft but at least it sells the fight a bit more and makes it a little more exciting.

If 2 chicks came up to you in a bar one was a foreigner and a 10/10 and the other was from your country but butt ugly and thick as pig **** which one would you take home for a smash? Your patriotism doesn't come into then does it? For me it's a similar thing, it's all about who's skills I respect the most and who I like the most, couldn't give a flying **** where the boxers from. It's a sport for individuals, not teams (unless it's the olympics)!

I'd shag the foreigner every single time obviously but its completely different to supporting a fellow countryman in boxing.

Ok here's one for you, England vs Brazil in the World Cup Final, Brazil are a much better team and have a lot more skill so would you be supporting them?
