I don’t mind a bit of cheeky banter or bad blood between two guys. But the persona(s) have to be either genuine (like Tyson) or easy to warm to (like Hamed, Froch and Ali). The likes of Haye and Mayweather, however, make me cringe when I see them trying so hard with their hype that they make boxing look more like WWE than the honourable, authentic, feisty sport it’s meant to be. And what makes it worse is when that brash-talking person does very little to live up to his past promises – which is what Haye’s heavyweight legacy is full of at the moment.

And in regards to being nice to your foe after the bell, it’s pretty easy to do when you’re the conquerer and the joys of victory blossoms the gratefulness within you. I wonder what his [Mayweather] reactions would have been if he’d lost a closely contested fight? But since we’ve not got the fortune of seeing that, how about his racist, hate-filled personal video blogs on YouTube? I guess that’s hyping a fight too, eh.

All these ploys will not help Haye on the night.

Wladimir Klitschko will play Haye at his own game, and come in 5 minutes late, the same as Sturm did to Macklin last Saturday.

It takes two to tango. You reap what you sow.

I admire Floyd for his boxing ability and noting else, he's a twat through and through. Even when he isnt trying to promote a fight he's disrespectful, hence all the trouble he's landed himself in and also racist like u say so its a bit different with regards to him

As I said previously it's a sport for individuals and not teams and I would root for whichever individual I liked the most. Then in brackets I wrote 'unless it's the olympics'. What I meant was in the olympics boxers go with the sole purpose of representing their country and go as a team so then it's different, you support your country. To answer your question I would support England.

You taking the foreign bird home is no different to you supporting a boxer from another country, you preferred her so you picked her to go home to bend over rather than the girl from your own country. You supported the foreigner and rejected your fellow country person.

Floyd isn't the only racist boxer. Look at Ali and the terrible racist comments he made towards Frazier. Ali is worshipped now though and looked at as an angel.

Haye's trash talking is not personal or affecting the lives of Wladimir, it is what it is, dumb'd down humour and it's selling the fight. What Ali did to Frazier I would not consider 'easy to warm to' trash talk to be honest.

Not all fighter's are humble after fights but Haye has been which suggests to me this is still nothing more pre fight hype from Haye. Did he bad mouth Thompson after the loss? Or did he ridicule Enzo or Audley after blowing them out so quickly in the fights?

Sadly, everyone I know IRL seems to be rooting for Haye.

    Exactly.

When you're in the surroundings of your home, friends and family, that's when you're most likely to be your true self. And Floyd, being the **** he is, would get carried away and inadvertantly show us his true colours. There was a scene in one of them where he takes a call from a fan who happened to be from the UK, and Floyd responds by mocking the poor guy's accent . He kept saying "I like Skittles, do you like Skittles" in a Brit accent. Which I admit was quite funny, but he's still a ****, though.

Some people just don't take his **** to heart. I used to "be entertained" by his stupid ****, because I knew it was all in the name of hype.

I think a lot of people take his verbal attacks a bit too personally and judge him and his fans based on what he says, even Wlad has said himself a few times that he doesn't think Haye is a bad person, he is just barking like a dog or something. If you watch an interview with Haye, when he is one on one or something, he is so much different to what he is like when there are more cameras and people.

True. it's funny how when the media talk about Ali they never want to mention his racist comments to Frazier. Instead they'd just rather people worship him. The truth is most of these famous people in history the media put on a pedestal were racists. Just like Ghandi.

I was being obtuse to make a point, I didn't actually mean it.

I'm not saying it is personal, although Wladimir and Vitali would disagree with you (decapitated heads, etc). I'm just saying he comes across as a knob, and that he and his fans shouldn't be surprised if people even from his own country turn against him, regardless of whether it's to hype up a fight or not. And I agree, Ali was a bit of a ***** to Frazier.

Again, it comes back to the point of it being easy to remain humble after a win. Floyd was kissing Hatton on the same cheeks he'd been pounding with his gloves, but months later in a personal video while he was hangin' with his homie Fiddy Cent, he was calling the same Hatton a "punk-ass *****". Real humble that.

And I remember vividly Haye's post-fight interview after the Thompson, and I admired him so much for that. But he seems to have changed quite a bit since then. But I guess we'll see what he's like if he loses on Saturday.
