UK fans. If Klitschko defeats Haye you can't have it both ways.

I have noticed that the Klitschko's has quite a few detractors in the UK. If Klitschko defeats Haye, I think the detractors are going to have avoid a double standard.

The choices are 1 ) Klitschko is a great fighter and deserves my respect or 2 ) The hype around Haye was premature, and he's nothing but a top 10 contender. It could be a mixture of the two, but if/when Wlad wins, your respect from him will have to go up a notch or two if you still think Haye is a top level fighter. You can't have it both ways by saying Wlad still is not that good, and Haye was a top level fighter.

the klitsckos have detractors everywhere its not just a UK thing.

how about 3) Haye is just not a natural Heavyweight and thats whats needed to beat the Klitscko brothers at this stage. Haye was a top level cruiserweight but not a top level Heavyweight.

i am pretty sure if we go through your posts we will find posts that dismiss Hayes ability, chin & resume. If he wins what does it say about your heros?

What's a natural heavyweight? At 212-213 pounds, Haye is the same weight as a prime Ali, or Holmes. He is just 5 pounds or so shy of Foreman's prime weight in the 1970's, and already bigger than past greats such as Frazier, Marciano, Louis, and Dempsey. If you playing the " natural heavyweight "card, then Wlad outside of a puncher's chance is simply too big and good for the above names I mentioned. Again, no double standards please.

I have noticed many of Wlad's biggest detractors are from the UK, and those from the UK are picking and backing Haye in disproportionate numbers to the rest of the world.

Haye's ability is good. Some may say Haye's lack of punch resistance is poor, but Wlad hits so darn hard if there really a fighter alive you think he can't stop if he lands enough?

I'm a massive Wlad fan (though I like Haye alot as well of course) and I think he deserves huge credit if he wins this fight. David Haye is a very real and serious threat to Klitschko, the biggest danger he's faced since Sanders in my opinion.

That opinion won't change even if Wlad knocks him out in a round. I'll still hold to that view and give Wlad huge credit.

If Haye wins, it's quite simply one of the finest achievements a British boxer has produced in quite some time, all things considered.

We're English, do you not know how it works? Either Haye wins and he's the best in the world or Wlad wins and he's a cheating ****. That's our choices.

Racing Post are usually good with supplying good boxing bets.

All recommendations for a bet are for Wlad to win late on in the fight.

Jonsey is way off in his 'haye isn't a natural HW' point IMO, that's madness.

Mendoza, take it from me pal; not everyone in the UK is rooting for Haye.

IMO, if Haye wins it's a massive upset, not because Wlad is an amazing, unbeatable force, but because Haye himself really isn't that good. A Quarry, Lyle or Shavers could well beat Wlad (let alone the true greats of the division) but Haye isn't even a Tommy Morrison-calibre fighter IMO.

Haye may well hold a strap, but option 2 is the right one; he's only top ten now because of the poor state of the division. In most other eras he'd barely be considered a contender IMO, let alone top ten.

Depending on how Haye acquits himself (and what the future holds for him) I'd be hard pressed to think it's even Wlads best win in terms of opponent quality/stature at the time of the fight.

Wlad could starch Haye with the first punch, and it wouldn't convince me he's any greater than he currently is. haye is just another in a long line of decent opponents, but no great shakes.

:good I know. If it helps I can not recall Wlad ever fouling in a match, and do not think this fight will go to the scorecards.

I partially agree...but I do think Haye could have been a really great cruiser if he'd been able to stick around at the weight. I've supported him since he turned pro, but there's no doubt whatsoever that he's going down as soon as Klitschko lands a decent shot tonight. Straight right or left hook, bang, over. People are talking about Klitschko late, but I don't see how this one goes further than three, five at a push. I wouldn't be at all surprised - and indeed am expecting, to some extent - to see it end within seconds.

It doesn't take a Quarry or Shavers to beat Wlad though. Wlad's weaknesses have already been demonstrated by fighters much worse than Haye.

But what about the excuses churned out here time and time again about Haye being weight drained at Cruiserweight, I'm pretty sure I've seen you allude to it in the past Rob.

Cruiser isn't even a proper division IMO. Back in the day the smaller guys didn't need to be protected, although I agree there wasn't that many safety first giants around in previous eras, but more big, talented fighters.

Haye has only had a degree of success because of the era he's in.

Let's get this right, when Klitschko defeats Haye he still won't get the full credit he deserves because Haye has nothing but hype on his record. Haye is way more dangerous than he looks on paper but unfortunately if Wlad beats him easily, he'll look like one of Wlad's weakest opponents in a while.
