Ward is WBA 'Super' champion at the weight, Sartison is WBA 'regular' champion. Yes it is a ridiculous situation but there you go.

Campillo Vs Clev for the Euro is a better fight than Braehmer.

No need to rush Clev, he's forced his way into the top ten, needs a bit more seasoning and he's good to go, wading into Braehmer with his lack of defence could spell disaster, Campillo would force him to vary his approach.

 

That used to be the idea alright, but nowdays they upgrade fighters to Super Champion as they please or sometimes even sanction fights for the super title straight off the bat.

It doesn't matter really, they can put whatever spin on it they want, but like the WBC(and their Silver title) they are a business and this is very good business practice as it brings them considerably more sanctioning fees and thus considerably more profit.

 

Campillo was completely robbed in the 2nd fight with Shumenov so he would be an ideal fight for Cleverly if he wants to test himself against world class fighters with different styles. Braehmer is a slightly busier version of murat but with greater power so that fight was good in the sense it prepared cleverly in case he has to fight him but what after? I like the idea of the Campillo fight because he is a very good techincal boxer who could frustrate cleverly and make him think when coming forward instead of just plodding in. Might be considered too risky though cos of the position cleverly is in

 

Agreed with most of this. Not sure about the vacant title though. Campillo is still ranked #1 by the WBA, and I suspect they'll set up a title eliminator soon between him and either Chris Henry or the Kuziemsky-Sukhotsky winner. Considering Campillo already beat Beibut twice before, he'll probably continue to target that belt.

If I were Cleverly, I'd push for Braehmer and then Erdei, both of whom I think he beats at this point, then try to make a push for to get on US TV.
