    In his book "The Dartford destroyer" Jim Kirkwood writes: The following morning when the national newspapers hit the stands only one ringside reporter gave Dave the fight. (Harry Carpenter who had the fight dead even after 14 rounds. From watching the fight on tape I have it very close.

    But back to the original question. Watt v Charnley would be a very interesting fight, I lean to Watt on a close decision.

    Duff would not have put Charnley in with Griffith.If you want to know what Duff did financially for fighters,ask Jim Watt,and Lloyd Honeyghan,

    I like Jim by decision. Maybe biased, knowing more about Watt than Charnley.

    Well, there's two. You could add Bruno, although he earned his biggest purses with Frank Warren. Now how about Magri, Hope, the McKenzies etc....
