Something along the lines of the BBBofC I'm guessing. That is a good thing. Something to outline who the best in our country is.
If the restrictions require you to fight in amateur ts before getting a professional bout I would be against it. Yes there should be some requirements but amateur MMA experience should not be an absolute necessity but merely one of many different avenues for getting a pro liscense. There are many former am wrestlers, former BJJ champs etc. that clearly demonstrate this.

I agree with what they are trying to do and support their rules, this is MMA coming forward and not be shackled by the chains of monopolistic promotions. Fighters should go through the amature process, this should sort out the good fighters from the bad and expose hype jobs. This is the sport becoming more professional and hopefully fighters like Brock (who has below average boxing and kicking), and Carwin (who has below average cardio) can polish up on their skills and endurance before they are pronounced as the BEST IN THE WORLD. This should also limit fighters ducking other fighters.
Best in the world is relative to other fighters, so improving the quality really has nothing to do with it. Even if you think they are not good fighters, which you would be wrong, they could still be the best in the world since apparently all fighters are bad.
Thanks Deano. This could improve British MMA a lot. Since the death of Cage Rage the UK domestic scene has fractured and it wasn't that strong to begin with.
Thanks for the feedback everyone! I really hope the governing body comes off. James was a pleasure to speak to, and they seem serious about wanting to improve UK MMA. They have some GREAT ideas and the ability financially to carry them out Let's hope it comes off! I think if the big shows come on board it's a goer!
