55 seconds left of a title fight and you don't even get an 8 count after going down.

Terry O Conner is a corrupt ref as we've seen many times before

    Pathetic!

Not the first time he's jumped in prematurely.

Time that Terry collected his pension imo.

Numerous " British stoppages " have been down to him.

If he was corrupt he'd be a home promoters dream cos no one would think he'd fixed a result, they'd just think it's another ****e decision from a ****e ref. Obviously just my opinion.

doubt hes actually watching the action in the ring, hes daydreaming about pastries and cakes and then see's someone on the floor or ropes and has to do something.

They've been awful for years. It's clear that the BBBofC have instructed them to err on the side of caution and as result their calls have gone from bad to worse. In some cases it would be better off banning the sport than allow some of these refs to stay in employment because ultimately boxing is a contact sport. Some of these refs would be better off in the amateur game where given the age and level of the participants it makes sense to stop them a little earlier.

Dodd was hurt, was struggling but what bothered me about it is O'Connor was waving his arms before Dodd hit the floor.

A British title fight that was very competitive and O'Connor didn't give Dodd a chance, even if he waved it off after a count it wouldn't have looked great but Dodd's backside hadn't landed and it was over.

This happens way to often in my opinion, I know referee's have a difficult job, it is a judgement call and I understand the better safe than sorry argument but some of these stoppages are ridiculous.

Does anyone know the official scores at the point of the stoppage, because I won't be surprised if Dodd would have gotten the nod if it had been a 10-8 round and he survived the last 40 seconds.

Lets not be under any illusions here

this only happens when it will favour a matchroom fighter

Up by 4 on one and up by 1 on another, they choose not to say what was going on on the other card, Cardle had prob won every round on that one, so with a 10-8 round hed have lost anyway

If the case he would not have carried Clev back to his corner in the Kovalev pasting.
