The UK has alot of hot up and coming prospects, Kell Brook, George Groves, Nathan Cleverly, Kevin Mitchel to name a few. All ive heard from america so far is Shaun Porter (who is very good too). Maybe i have just missed out on a number of usa up and comers or there is a lack of amercan prospects

Well even though these guys are champs Devon Alexander is still extremely young and Mike Jones at Welter just blasted Henry Bruseles. Deontay Wilder at Heavyweight is the real deal.

You can look at Demetrius Andrade and maybe Gary Russell Junior. I think those two can be good fighters, especially Andrade. Porter and Andrade are in the same division, but Porter won't be as good as Andrade. Russell has a lot of potential, but he's still very raw at this point. Anthony Peterson might still be considered a prospect to some and he would be good to look at as well.

    Danny Jacobs
    Demetrius Andrade
    Danny Garcia
    Mikey Garcia
    Gary Russell Jr.
    Fernando Guerrero
    Vanes Martinosyan
James Kirkland (once he gets out of prison)
    Omar Henry
    Jose Benavidez Jr.
    Mike Jones
    Anthony Peterson
    Lamont Peterson

There are plenty of American prospects out there...

And I think you missed out on the two best UK prospects, IMO, in Frankie Gavin and James DeGale.

A lot of it is based on what you consider a "prospect". For instance, Kevin Mitchell is ranked #10 by the Ring at 135. He's going to fight #2, Michael Katisidis, in his next bout. That, to me, is someone who should probably be called a "contender".

Here are a list of guys that I consider among the best American "prospects," which means that, in addition to having great potential, they are not currently rated in the Ring Top 10 at their respective weight class and are relatively young:

    Demetrius Andrade
    Jose Benavidez
    Danny Garcia
    Frankie Gomez
Daniel Jacobs (he's one fight away from contender status, in my opinion)
    Marcus Johnson
Vanes Martirosyan (poor prior fight and also quite close to contender level)
    Shawn Porter
    Antwone Smith
    Deontay Wilder

I forgot about Mike Jones. Good call.
