UKAD Statement on Fury

Interesting last sentence. It seems as if there are charges still pending on Hughie yet he is fighting on Saturday. So it would seem that Hughie is being treated differently to other boxers in general and to Tyson. This gets weirder and weirder. Also how can you possibly exclude evidence from a doping hearing?

 

Whole thing is just a complete **** up. Don't care what "reasons" there are. Sort it out quickly. You get murder cases that are heard in court quicker than the time it's taken here.

 

If there was strong enough evidence to suspend boxers surely 'they have the evidence', if not you shouldn't be able to stop them making a living until they do.

 

They delays now look like they are being caused by the Furys wanting to exclude certain evidence so that the panel can't place any weight on it. This is their own fault. They seemingly would rather delay proceedings in the hope of getting off rather than let the hearing go ahead with the evidence at hand and be found guilty.

 

Well, the statement said "All parties are currently awaiting a ruling from the NADP tribunal on an application made by the athletes to exclude certain evidence."

The Furys are obviously trying to fight a case with whatever tools they can muster, but the statement is pretty clear that everyone is waiting on the NADP tribunal.

 

I don't understand why Tyson Fury isn't just going direct to the BBBoC for his licence.
Hughie has a licence.
The only diffence between the two seems to be his claim of mental depression problems and the matter of COCAINE.
The PEDs (nandrolne) clearly isn't the issue, otherwise Hughie would not be licensed.

In that case, the best plan would be convincing the BBBoC that you're just a young guy that went off the rails a little bit and now haven't touched cocaine for a while, have no plan to do so, and have got your mind right again.
I mean, come on, that's stuff not even extreme behaviour for a boxer or a young man with a bit of fame. Loads of champs admit to the same thing. Loads of successful people have moments of madness. These are normal human issues.

It's all a bit weird.

 

I would love to know what evidence the Fury's are trying get excluded.

 

All that means is that both the UKAD and the Furys are awaiting the NADP response on the Furys attempt to exclude evidence that will clearly be damning.

 

Yes, the delay then is with the NADP.

 

Maybe when Fury said "All boxers are on drugs".

Yes, and caused by the Furys wanting evidence to be excluded. Either way it's bad for all concerned.

 

My understanding is the BBBoC have stated they will not deal with the cocaine charge till after the UKAD situation is sorted, which seems rather unfair.

 

Yes, the Furys can be accused or suspected of stringing this out and taking every avenue possible to wriggle out.
But there should be a limit to how long that all should take.
As CutThroatFade pointed out, murder cases can be heard quicker in court.

I have a feeling these guys who work in these "anti-doping courts" are weekend amateurs.
