Boxing fans here dont really hate Brian. It's more of, they are frustrated with him. Because they can see how good his technical boxing skills are, and he's got good natural talent too. But he doesnt use it to his advantage.

It kills them inside, watching Brian throw away the fight, when they know that he's more than capable of beating his opponent, if he just had more fire inside him.

They'd still like Viloria a lot even with a KTFO loss, as long as he fought on top of the ring like a real warrior. Never say die. No retreat, no surrender.

That would be good enough for the local fans to support him all the way, win or lose.

agree...Brian definitely has a KO punch but when he gets frustrated he doesn't set it up..And in later rounds, he doesnt throw alot of punch, it's either he's tired or frustrated..

I'm curious to see how Brian looks considering it's been two years since he's fought @ 108. He's looked better at the higher weight and I'm wondering if going back down in weight will be a hinderance.

He's a bit undersized as it is, reach wise, at 108. What more at 112?

I liked how he showed some warrior streak in him last fight.

Some fights back, it would be painful to watch him just cover up and be a human heavy bag whenever he was getting punched by his opponents, and not hitting back with enough fire and conviction.

When I was watching his past few fights, I almost wanna scream at him "HEY! BRIAN? You'll just let him hit you like that?! Get back at that little *******, man?!"

Versus Ulises Solis, he did just that, in spurts. I loved how he charged back at Solis and backed him up to the ropes and threw lightning quick flurries, just moments after he was attacked by Ulises. It was a great adrenaline rush.

I think he still needs more consistent offense and improved conditioning. He already seems to have good enough punch resistance.

I want him to go for the Sosa rematch.

The first fight was close with Viloria edging him through the first 9 rounds, but freakn Goosen who was Viloria's trainer at the time was telling Viloira he was well way ahead which I believe held Viloria back, giving Sosa those crucial deciding last rounds.

A unification win with Sosa would setup a big fight against Calderon.

aside from the scare in the end of the 9th, he
was solid. in reality, he pretty much wiped out
the champ. i think if he rides his current
momentum into a sosa rematch, he just might
be able to pull it out. but you are definitely
right about his size. hes a wee little lad.
