How about De La Hoya? Wasn't he top 10 also? If not, he was much closer than the bums Calzaghe was fighting...

When did I say Calzaghe is fighting an old blown up middleweight ? When did i say it would do nothing for calzaghe ?

Oscar might have been top10 p4p, but not at MW.

calzaghe fighting reid was a tougher fight than hops fighting dlh at mw.

    Nope.

I don't give Hops too much credit for that one, it was a farce.

A fat DLH should never have been awarded the decision against Sturm, but in fairness to Hopkins, he deserved the easy fight with the Golden payday.

DLH wasn't close to being P4P at that time.

But Trinidad was universally recognized in the top 3, Winky in the top 5, and Tarver in the top 10 at the time Hopkins fought them.

To date, Calzaghe has never even faced a top P4P talent....until now.

This is exactly what you wrote, which is incorrect.

WHAT I DON'T GET IS...IF HOPKINS ONLY BEAT BLOWN UP MIDDLEWEIGHTS, AND HE IS SOOOOO OVERRATED, WHAT WOULD CALZAGHE BEATING A MIDDLEWEIGHT 15 LBS. OUT OF HIS PRIME WEIGHT, AT 43 YEARS OLD, PROVE???

It would seem to be meaningless, yet Calzaghe fans make it a big deal.

Hopkins is as much out of his weight class as Trinidad was at Middleweight, and Hopkins is 43 and well out of his prime, while Trinidad was in his prime....

Hoya is going to the HOF that doesn't mean he was top 10 p4p when Hopkins fought him. Tarver was in the top 10 p4p as well. Hopkins beat 3 top 10 p4p fighters, you said he beat none.

Im taking this fight at face value, I know Hopkins probably isnt still at his peak, but i do rank him as a great fighter, he is the man to beat at 175 and it is the most anticipated fight for Calzaghe out there after Mikkel Kessler, id much prefer Hopkins for the Rings 175 belt, than say another defence against a Lucian Bute or a Carl Froch.

The only person to blame for this fight not happening years ago when both men were younger, is Bernard Hopkins.

I did read your post you ****ing jack-ass!

    You said:
    Bhops wins over HOF's:

    Trinidad - WELTERWEIGHT
    DLH - WELTERWEIGHT
WRIGHT - LMW FIGHTING AT LHW!!

Bhops wins over top 10 p4p's - None.

This is still factually incorrect. numbskull, for being a future HOF'er and a ranking P4P fighter are not mutually exclusive, bucko!

    Nonsense.

Read my Kessler thread, this fight is a no win situation for Calzaghe, it won't go down as a great win if he comes through because guaranteed Hopkin's age will be dragged into it. Not by Hopkin's himself but by others.
